Seth explains to us how playing the drums makes him feel!

Music is a fantastic tool to help boost our mental health. It reduces anxiety, lowers stress levels and lifts our mood.

⭐️Mental Health Awareness Week⭐️

In her piano lesson this week, Heidi wanted to tell us about how playing the piano makes her feel. Heidi loves to play a variety of different music and is working hard towards her grade 1.

She always comes out her sessions with a big smile on her face and told us that playing the piano makes her happy!

To book a music lesson with us, visit wrexhamsounds.org to book a date and time that suits you! 🎶

The income from our music lessons helps us to subsidise sessions for those who need it most.

11/05/2026

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week and we are going to be celebrating the positive impact that music has on our mental wellbeing! 🎶

We’re kicking off the week by sharing the powerful impact that music has on senior members of the community.

Our group sessions will soon be returning to local community groups through our Music and Moments sessions. Keep an eye on our social media pages and website for more information.

Group music sessions encourage social connections, participation and creativity, whilst helping combat loneliness and isolation within the community.

If you’re over 60 and would like to join our Return to Music sessions, they take place every Monday from 10am - 11am at Wrexham Sounds!

⭐️Student Spotlight⭐️

Henri is doing so well in his drum lessons with Elin and Jason! He has discovered a passion for drumming and grunge is his favourite genre of music to play along to. There’s nothing he doesn’t know about Nirvana!

Henri looks forward to his drum lessons and these have unlocked opportunities for him. He has joined a band with his friends and can jam along with his dad at home.

Keep up the great work, Henri! 🥁

If you’d like to learn an instrument with us, you can book directly via the website by visiting wrexhamsounds.org.

All of the income received from music lessons helps us to subsidise music sessions for disadvantaged children, making music accessible for all.

The group have completed units in rhythm, music making, group performance and hand drumming. Everyone has worked so hard!
