This will enable our team to easily transport equipment and reach even more people across Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire.

Elin and John visited the Luncheon Club at The Church of the Nazarene this week as we begin to take our Return to Music sessions out into the community.

The group enjoyed singing along to a range of well known songs and joined in with their percussion instruments.

Our project has received funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This will enable us to reach more community groups for the over 60s and make Return to Music more accessible to the people of Wrexham.

Sessions are fun and engaging and include anything from singing and playing instruments to games and quizzes.

This week Cara and Elin returned to Nightingale House Hospice to spend time with the patients on the wellbeing programme.

The group enjoyed singing to a range of music from Elvis to Fleetwood Mac

Cara and Elin have enjoyed making music with the patients at Nightingale House Hospice as part of their wellbeing programme. Everyone enjoys a singalong and the chance to participate with percussion instruments and vocal harmonies!

⭐️MEET THE TEAM⭐️

Hi, I’m Cerys and I will be teaching piano and violin at Wrexham Sounds!

I have recently graduated from the University of Sheffield with a music degree, and during that time I studied in America for a year!

I specialise in the piano and have been playing for around 16 years.

I also play the violin and enjoy playing with Wrexham Symphony Orchestra!

In my spare time you can find me playing the organ at St Giles Parish Church in Wrexham and taking long walks with my dog!

I’m looking forward to getting started at Wrexham Sounds!

⭐️STUDENT SPOTLIGHT⭐️

We would like to say a huge congratulations to one of our talented vocal students, Harmony!

Harmony applied for Sound and Music - In the Making, a year long artist development programme for young musicians, songwriters and producers.

Harmony received 1 of just of 50 places and will head to the University of Huddersfield to write and record her own music and take part in music making workshops.

Well done, Harmony!

It was a lovely sunny day and it provided the team with a great opportunity to meet with Caia Park residents to discuss our services.
