🌟 Tight Hamstrings? Try This Stretch with a Pilates Ring! 🌟

If your hamstrings feel tight from sitting, running, or just life in general — this one’s for you!

Grab your Pilates ring and try this simple stretch:

💫 How-to:
1️⃣ Lie on your back, one leg bent( or extended along the floor for a further stretch) one leg lifted
2️⃣ Place the Pilates ring over the sole of your lifted foot
3️⃣ Gently hold the ring and guide your leg toward you
4️⃣ Keep shoulders relaxed and breathe into the stretch

🧘‍♀️ You’ll feel a deep release through the back of the leg without straining your neck or back — Pilates style!

No circle, no problem, use a resistance band or a rolled up towel instead!

We took Pilates outside this morning and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

There’s something special about moving your body in the fresh air – it boosts your mood, deepens your breath, and helps you feel more connected to yourself and the world around you. 🌼

Outdoor Pilates is not just good for your body, it’s great for your mind too. We soaked up the sunshine, stretched , strengthened and enjoyed every feel-good moment.

Tonight we used the thera bands to add in a little strength work, especially for our upper bodies. How fab does the hall look with the VE bunting! No, I’ve not shrank, that’s my ‘mini me’ joining in with the warm up. Nice for her to see what we get up to but she was disappointed no back walkovers!

Foam roller… do you love it or hate it? When we use the foam rollers, I often tell clients that some of the exercises may not feel the nicest when we do them BUT the benefits after class can be greatly felt.

The foam roller is often used as a massage tool but recently in class we used it as a prop to aid our mobilisation work, increasing our range of movement.

Pilates ….its just a bit of stretching and breathing, isn’t it??!
Hmm not quite! Yes we do stretch, and we do focus on our breathing, learning how to use our breath effectively and where to direct our breath but there’s a lot more to Pilates!
Tonight, we focused on strength and mobility. We flexed, extended, rotated, and moved laterally. We worked hard!! If you’ve still yet to try pilates, where have you been?!
Drop me a message and I’ll get you booked in so you can feel the benefits too!

Happy New Year everybody! I hope you all had a lovely night whatever you did. 2024 was another busy year for KCPilates. Hundreds/thousands of hours of pilates taught, both face to face and online. 2 pilates retreats ran, mat and reformer teacher training workshops attended and we still managed to squeeze in quite a few holidays and short breaks ( photo taken from the Dordogne) .
Our little Pilates community is getting bigger and I’ve loved welcoming in new clients this year and seeing new friendships form between many of you.
Thank you for bringing the energy each week to class and trusting me to teach you. I’ve thoroughly loved it!
2025 is now here and the first class is on Thursday 2nd January at 9.30am .
Why not start the year how you mean to continue! I look forward to another year, helping you become the best version of yourself!
