That’s just what happened to this band of Recovery In Focus photographers when we launched an exhibition of their photography at . Congratulations to you all!

Huge thanks to Storiel for their continued support of this project, a massive acknowledgement of the value of Recovery in Focus and of these photographers.

Thanks for coming to see us Lesley Griffiths and for taking the time to support us! 💜💜💜

It was great to catch up with Marcus Fair, MD and founder of Eternal Media, at their HQ on Borras Road and to congratulate him on receiving a prestigious award.

As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, The National Lottery awarded 30 ‘Game Changers’ from nominations across the UK. The title recognises the trailblazers, celebrating the outstanding contributions made in their field, and Marcus was awarded a Game Changer award for his work in the community.

Marcus survived a 25 year he**in and crack co***ne addiction, vast swathes of homelessness and multiple prison sentences before turning his life around and founding Eternal Media. The not-for-profit enterprise is an award-winning provider of training in media and filmmaking for individuals who have overcome addiction.

As part of the National Celebration, seven of the chosen Game Changers were invited to sit for portraits painted by the artist Luis Gomez De Teran.

The portraits were exhibited at the Blue Bridge in St James’ Park in London and Marcus’ now sits proudly at Eternal Media’s base in Borras.

How many Recovery in Focus photographers can you fit in a photo booth?

Our legendary recovery photo community met up in Colwyn Bay this week to explore the displays and exhibitions around the town as part of the Northern Eye Photography Festival. The photo booth at Porth Erias gave us the opportunity to turn the camera on ourselves!

Thank you Oriel Colwyn for welcoming us once again; Paul and Millie, we really appreciate your support.

🎥 Working Week Project | HMP Wealstun

Today we visited HMP Wealstun to see the implementation of the Working Week Project — and what truly stood out was the wide range of manufacturing and industry partners now getting involved. Their forward-thinking, customer-led approach shows what’s possible when creativity meets purpose.

Here, a structured working week is seen as far more than a timetable. It offers men in custody a renewed sense of purpose, routine and dignity — tackling some of the core challenges of prison life such as boredom, low self-esteem and isolation. By building real-world skills and pathways into meaningful employment on release, it lays the groundwork for lasting change.

It’s a powerful example of how purposeful work can play a vital role in rehabilitation and in reducing reoffending — while also creating a ripple effect of positive social impact for families and communities beyond the prison walls.

A heartfelt thank you to our host, Kat, and the team for looking after us so well, and for your dedication and belief in change. 💙

And It's a wrap 🎬!
This project has taken us from Clacton on Sea all the way up to York with many stops for filming along the way. We've covered a couple of thousand miles, shot about 16 hours of footage, and made a whole load of new friends along the way, on both sides of the walls!

A huge thanks to everyone who helped get the wheels on the working week film series productions, to everybody who made us feel so welcomed in all the prisons and especially everybody on the recovery wings finding a new way to live! You're all stars 🌟

Special thanks to Jo for putting us forward for this and all the trust and faith you have in us🙏💜💜💜
The big edit job starts now 😬😅

Working Week Project | HMP Ranby

Today we visited HMP Ranby to see the Working Week Project in action — and it was incredibly powerful.

We interviewed two men whose lives have changed dramatically since starting work on this project. Both spoke openly about how the experience has supported their rehabilitation and helped them secure jobs ready for release.

It was humbling to hear their stories and their hopes for the future — a real reminder of the impact that meaningful work and purpose can have.

JT, who heads Working Week at Ranby gave us a brilliant overview of the project on cam too!

We were also allowed to visit and chill n chat all things Recovery with the guys on the Recovery wing! Loved it!! 💜💜💜

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Ranby for looking after us so well and for their passion, dedication, and belief in creating real opportunities that can help prevent reoffending.

🎥 Working Week Project | HMPPS

This week we joined the team at HMP Featherstone to film more of the Working Week Project with His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS).

We've been commissioned by HMPPS to create promotional videos to help attract more manufacturers to shift some of their operations to within prisons across the UK

The project focuses on improving industry workshops, reflecting a normal working day, and creating meaningful work with real employment opportunities — building purpose and confidence through change.

We were also invited & joined by JP from to visit the Recovery Wing, an incredibly inspiring space filled with real hope and drive as people rebuild their lives.

The sign behind us was made in the prison factory by the men inside, and it was amazing to see the craftsmanship and pride so visible in their work — a clear reflection of skill, teamwork, and change in action.

Powerful to witness the energy and commitment going into creating genuine pathways for rehabilitation through work. 💙

A huge thank you to the lads, Jo, Sue and staff of HMP Featherstone for making us feel so welcome through the day!
HMP Ranby tomorrow!

🎥 ⚽️ The last few months has seen us very busy shooting football across North Wales.

We’ve been covering JD Welsh Cup Games for the Football Association of Wales’ (FAW) streaming service Red Wall+ with our great friends EatSleep Media

We covered FAW’s Youth Conference which had us interview Wales legends Kevin Ratcliffe and Robert Earnshaw.

We had the honour of covering the very first Gary Speed Cup where we interviewed Gary’s mum, Carol and Wales’ first team manager Craig Bellamy.

We shot an interview Mai Griffith and Dianne Totty who played for Wales' first women's team in 1973 after the ban on women's football had been lifted. Extremely honoured to hear the story from Mai And Di themselves!

We shot a day in the life of a Wrexham fan which saw us shooting at Spirit of '58 - Welsh Football T-Shirts/Merchandise in Bala. Tim who runs the shop is known as Mr Bwced for being the originator of the Wales bucket hat back in the Euros 2016. Now you can’t escape them and you’ve probably even seen the massive sculptures of them dotted around Wales. We followed Tim as he linked up with his posse at the Maesgwyn and then covered their reactions in the Racecourse as Wrexham sadly lost to QPR 1-3.

Most recently was our third annual coverage of the Naloxone Cup, Adferiad v Kaleidoscope for Recovery Month.

It’s been a blast and we look forward to more of it!

An Inside Job - Episode 9: Methadone Madness

In the final episode of the series, Marcus and Alex sit down with a man navigating one of the most difficult transitions of his recovery so far.

Due to prison protocols, he’s being forced off various medications and being made to switch to using methadone, even though he was already stabilised on the other medications. The experience is painful — physically and emotionally — and not something he chose. But amid that struggle, a spark has been lit. Because sometimes, the very thing that hurts can become the catalyst for change.

An Inside Job - Pennod 9: Gwallgofrwydd Methadon

Yn y bennod olaf o'r gyfres, mae Marcus ac Alex yn eistedd i lawr gyda dyn sy'n llywio un o'r trawsnewidiadau anoddaf yn ei adferiad hyd yn hyn.

Oherwydd protocolau'r carchar, mae'n cael ei orfodi i roi'r gorau i wahanol feddyginiaethau ac yn cael ei orfodi i newid i ddefnyddio methadon, er ei fod eisoes wedi'i sefydlogi ar y meddyginiaethau eraill. Mae'r profiad yn boenus - yn gorfforol ac yn emosiynol - ac nid rhywbeth a ddewisodd. Ond yng nghanol y frwydr honno, mae gwreichionen wedi'i thanio. Oherwydd weithiau, gall yr union beth sy'n brifo ddod yn gatalydd ar gyfer newid.

An Inside Job - Episode 8: 24-Hour Job

Sam sits down with one man whose journey through addiction began long before he made any choices of his own.

Born to parents addicted to opiates, and raised in the care system, he shares how those early experiences shaped his path into addiction and led to multiple prison sentences. Now, with release on the horizon, he’s ready to give recovery another go — with hard-earned insight and real determination.

Swydd Mewnol - Pennod 8: Swydd 24 Awr

Mae Sam yn eistedd i lawr gydag un dyn y dechreuodd ei daith trwy gaethiwed ymhell cyn iddo wneud unrhyw ddewisiadau ei hun.

Wedi'i eni i rieni oedd yn gaeth i opiadau, a'i fagu yn y system ofal, mae'n rhannu sut y lluniodd y profiadau cynnar hynny ei lwybr i gaethiwed ac arweiniodd at sawl dedfryd o garchar. Nawr, gyda rhyddhad ar y gorwel, mae'n barod i roi cynnig arall ar adferiad - gyda mewnwelediad caled ei ennill a phenderfyniad gwirioneddol.
