This week's Boat Of The Week is: Forever Faithful PD 289!

The 22.75m prawn freezer trawler Forever Faithful PD 289 is the third of a series of three sisterships built at Macduff Shipyards’ Buckie yard. Delivered to skipper Andrew West in July 2024, the vessel was designed with crew comfort, working efficiency and safety to the fore.

The hull form, designed in collaboration with Macduff Ship Design, was optimised to reduce resistance, save fuel and improve the vessel’s environmental impact.

The propulsion package is based around a Caterpillar C18 main engine, and the bespoke hydraulic deck machinery package was fabricated by the yard.

This week's Fishing News Boat Of The Week is... Inter Nos PZ 46!

The 14.95m GRP G Smyth Maxus catamaran Inter Nos PZ 46 joined the Newlyn fleet just before Christmas 2023.

Built by G Smyth Boats for Elizabeth Lambourn, Sam Lambourn and skipper Will Treneer, the boat is fitted out as a ring-netter for the Cornish sardine fishery.

Powered by twin 253kW Volvos, it features an innovative pumping system allowing rapid emptying of the four 5t fish holds, reducing handling time and maximising catch quality.
