Here's what can happen if you leave a tractor outside and untouched for 60 years! Spotted on the Notts NVTEC's stand at Tractor Fest last weekend, this 1952 Massey-Harris 744D (complete with Scottish Aviation cab) belongs to the Ducksbury family, and was displayed at Newby Hall as a touching tribute to the club's greatly missed chairman, the late Paul Ducksbury.

TRACTOR TUESDAY!
This 1973 MB-trac 65/70 was one of more than 1,400 tractors on display at last weekend's amazing Tractor Fest show held at Newby Hall, in Yorkshire. The 65/70 was the model that launched the MB-trac range and this example, owned by Victor Thompson from Cumbria, was restored in 1999 and has run for just 30 hours since!

Well, did the earth move for you? This superb, 21-tonne, Caterpillar 977L made everything else in the Tractor Fest parade ring look tiny during the Saturday morning Made in Scotland parade. Despite the grey, drizzly weather, the sight of this big yellow Cat brought smiles to the massive Newby Hall crowd at last weekend's excellent event.

It was a treat to see Richard Mason's fine display of beautifully-restored County machinery at the recent Carrington Steam & Heritage Show. The six-tractor display was set out to replicate the company's Royal Show stand, and even included a correctly-liveried Ford Transit 'County Service Vehicle'. We also liked the period price stickers in the windscreens. Here's one of the models from the stand, an 'Ex-demo' County 1474 TW that was 'for sale' for £24,500. If only, eh?

A trio of John Deers spotted in Kentish woodland, and away from their usual open field habitat! These tractors were among almost 200 taking part in the recent Smarden Vintage & Classic Tractor Road Run which, as always, proved to be a very enjoyable day and raised a good amount of money for charity.

This beautifully presented IH Farmall 235 diesel three-wheel row crop tractor, complete with equally impressive cultivator, was among the many highlights at this year's Woolpit Steam event, held last weekend at Wetherden, in Suffolk. Here it's seen returning to the tracfor parking area after a turn around the ring in the blistering Saturday sunshine.

Little and Large! Talk about broad interests, we spotted this couple of contrasting machines leaving the ring at the excellent Shillingstone Steam & Vintage Rally, earlier this month. The 1959 Fordson Dexta and the 1979 Muir-Hill 111 are both owned by the Dowden family, and we gather from the event programme that the Dowdens had a 1953 Ferguson TE-F 20 at the show, too. A great effort!

The spectacular weather at this year's Carrington Steam & Heritage Show in Lincolnshire meant that taking a turn in the Working Field wasn't for the feint-hearted. Here's J Longford and his 1951 Fordson E27N crawler, with Nicholson cultivator on the back, braving the scorching, dusty conditions!
