Dear Sandra,
You may see Sally and Koi as “just dogs” or animals, but to us, they are our children.
Our shop has air conditioning running 24/7 and air purifiers at all times. We clean constantly throughout the day to make sure the environment is safe, clean, and comfortable for Sally and Koi. No matter how busy we are, we always make time to take them out — at least 30 minutes every morning and over an hour every evening. They are bathed 1–2 times a week, brushed every single day, and fed with the best and freshest food we can possibly buy or specially order for them.
They sleep in the same room as us every night. We have never locked them in cages because to our family, Sally and Koi have never been “just animals.” Since they were 8 weeks old, they have been by our side 24/7, from morning until night. They have never been left alone. Even if our family goes out for dinner for only two hours, we arrange for someone to stay with them because we would never leave them by themselves.
Sally’s pregnancy was a complete surprise to us. Since she became pregnant, and especially after giving birth, we have done everything possible for her and the puppies. I cooked fresh meals, bought the best food and care possible, spoon-fed her when needed, and even set alarms every 4 hours during the night to wake up and feed and care for them. For nearly a year now, the whole little family has shared our room and our lives every single day.
We have spent over £2,000 on vet visits and healthcare for Sally during and after her pregnancy. If you think that is “mistreatment,” then I honestly don’t know what love looks like to you. Is all of this still not enough to show how deeply and unconditionally we love them?
We believe the greatest happiness for them is being surrounded by love, never feeling lonely, being with their owners every day, meeting people, seeing the world change around them, and receiving cuddles, kisses, and affection from so many lovely customers, children, and families who visit our shop daily.
Sally and Koi have become some of the happiest little souls in Acomb because they are loved not only by our family, but by so many people around them every single day. They have never had to experience loneliness because we would never leave our children alone without us.
Lastly, we would like to say thank you to everyone who has followed Sally and Koi’s journey, shown them love, asked about them, and welcomed them so warmly over the past year.
The kindness, cuddles, smiles, and love they receive every single day from our customers, local families, and children truly mean the world to us. We are so grateful that Sally and Koi are surrounded by so much love every day.
Thank you for your concern, but comments like this truly upset our whole team ( you are the Only one making this comment and message about us) — especially my husband, because he loves Sally and Koi unconditionally.
