IMPORTANT NOTICE PLEASE READ AND SHARE TO SPREAD THE WORD.

Due to the heavy rain forecast for tomorrow we have sadly decided to cancel tomorrow’s event.

This was a hard decision to make but made in the best interests of safety and comfort for all involved, due to this being an outdoor music and family event with a live band, electrical equipment and no real way of ample provision for shelter on the amphitheatre bank.

We are so sorry if you were planning to attend and have made plans or travelled.

We really hope to raise money for the friends - so if you are still able to contribute any amount you can spare, both us and the volunteers would be most grateful!

Happy Easter folks!
Tomorrow night work up an appetite for that Sunday morning chocolate binge with a dance with ¡Tropica!'s first live global music event of the year, featuring our favourite local Latin band York Latinos. Enjoy authentic Cuban music with a host of tunes, some familiar, some less so and lap up the DJs filling the gaps with a global smorgasbord of sounds. Live is a great space for live music with a club atmosphere and terrific sound system – we're working it 7 – 11 Saturday 19th April. See you there!

Warming up the fabulous Musicport crowd on the first evening of this year's festival. What a wonderful weekend with amazing live performances kicking off all around the Mesqualito DJ Hub where the floor was often chocka and the music flowed from 10am to 2am the next day. With a fine blend of musically eclectic DJs delighting the crowds across the entire weekend accompanied by excellent visuals The Hub is most definitely the Beating Heart Of The Festival!

Hi there ¡Tropica! Friends!
This Saturday will be our final night at Rise@Bluebird for 2024. For a number of reasons, Jono and I are taking a break from putting on events for the remainder of the year. So please join us this Saturday for our final fling, admission to DJ nights is, as usual, free and we'll be playing great global sounds from 7 – 11 in the delightful bar at Bluebird Bakery, Acomb.
We'll be back in 2025 with a series of events at Rise@Bluebird which, of course, we'll let you know about via our Facebook & Instagram pages, so watch out for those.
Until then I'll be travelling to Whitby to join ¡Tropica! DJs Sister Silver, Ms Fabulous and Mark Thompson for the weekend of the 25th October and the very lovely Festival!
