With profound sadness, Viridian FX announces the death of one of their closest colleagues and dear friend, Andy Jones.
As one of the original team, Andy was instrumental in helping start Viridian FX twelve years ago. He remained an integral part of the company’s leadership as the company grew from its student beginnings to its current position. A progression that almost certainly would have been impossible without Andy's skills and character.
Beneath Andy’s quiet exterior lay a cultural breadth and curiosity that he invested in all aspects of his life. This creative engagement made him a natural ally when collaborating on Viridian FX's more experimental home-grown projects and contributed significantly to the company's culture, style, and success.
Andy's unassuming manner belied a fierce intelligence and restless curiosity that drove him onwards, though never at the expense of others. Indeed, his humility and warm-heartedness helped formulate the social bonds that have held Viridian together and allowed it to grow without ever losing sight of its communal origins. Andy's generosity of spirit was - and will always remain - a huge part of Viridian's culture.
The grief and shock that we're all feeling right now is a testament to the wonderful human being that Andy was. Whatever else the company does, and wherever its story turns, we will continue to miss him, remember him, and celebrate him in everything we do.
