STEW: Picnic in the Park

York Together is hosting a picnic with purpose at Rowntree Park on Saturday, 27th June. The event, called STEW, brings like-minded people together who care about the people and planet.

Guest are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy this laid back, inclusive approach to local change-making. After arriving, attendees are provided with an Arabic salad bowl, soft drink and baklava. They will hear from three local community organisers who will each have just four minutes to pitch their grassroots projects or idea.

Following the pitches, the audience will then vote on which project should receive the majority of the event's prize pot, which is funded entirely through ticket sales. This event aims to give local people the chance to decide how money is spent. It's also a brilliant opportunity to make new connections and hear about important but often hidden work happening to make York a more fair, just and sustainable city.
