A personal message from our Chief Executive, Wayne Dawson
Hey lovely QueerArts members,
I wanted to update you on a lot of changes happening at QueerArts.
Next year I will be stepping down from my role as Chief Executive of QueerArts UK CIC. However, I will remain on the Board of Directors in a voluntary capacity. I hope to bring the knowledge I have developed through my current job as Chief Executive of Leicestershire LGBTQ+ Centre to QueerArts, and look forward to being part of the next stage of the organisation’s development.
I have loved the work I have done with QueerArts as Chief Executive, building it from the ground up since 2022 into a lottery-funded organisation with a q***r creative hub in the centre of York. Four years have gone so quickly! Together with you, our supporters and members, we have delivered stages at York Pride, supported local q***r talent and built a QueerArts community of almost 200 members. I’m incredibly proud of everyone who has helped to make this happen.
As a result of this change and to allow the organisation to further develop, we will be recruiting for a Development Manager in the new year. We’ll share more details about this role in due course, including how you can help us spread the word and be part of shaping this next chapter.
Although there will be some changes, we want to assure you that groups and events will continue to run as normal.
Thank you for your support and for being part of the QueerArts adventure. This has been an eventful journey so far, and we look forward to continuing our work championing q***r arts and culture.
Wayne Dawson
