Nino, our participant from Georgia tells us her story:

« Life with +1 difference''- it was the name of Erasmus+ project, that took place in Izmir, Turkey, from 26 June to 4 July, 2019. I was one of the luckiest participant, who was chosen by Equality and Development Center for this training course.

The main aim of the project was to change some people's attitudes toward down syndrome and make people aware of it. It is important problem in our society and people with down syndrome need our support for better life.


I had chance to meet many interesting, friendly and motivated people from Spain, Georgia, Romania, Slovakia, Lithuania, who were completely involved in many discussions, games around topic. Beside of it, to become more closely with our main issue, we visited a cafe, in the city center, where work some people with down syndrome. We talked to the director of this cafe and organization, who really helps them to find themselves in some professions and to become the part of society. There, we took our flag, which we made, as the symbol of friendship, integrity and support for people with down syndrome.

There was another interesting part of this project, which really touched my heart. Every evening we were making cultural nights, where we had a chance to get more information about different cultures. It helped us more to approach and respect each other’s values. Our Georgian team showed national dances, Georgian cuisine, wine and music to become them closer with our country. And the same time we learned some interesting parts of other cultures, especially dances. Also we had trips around the city, we saw many sightseeing of Izmir. Historical town – Ephesus made unforgettable impression on everyone. This ancient Greek city once was the center of world culture and today most part of it is remained.

So this is exactly what we call ‘’Erasmus+’’ - knowledge, relations, culture, interesting topics, lot of amazing people and happy moments, which follows your whole life. »

სასწრაფოდ! დაფინანსებული მოხალისის პროექტი გერმანიაში!

ახალგაზრდებო (18 დან 30 წლამდე) გერმანიაში, ბერლინში გვაქვს დაფინანსებული მოხალისის პროექტი. პროექტი დაფინანსებულია ერასმუს+ ფარგლებში და ფარავს : გზის, გერმანიაში ცხოვრების ხარჯებს: ბინა, კვების და ჯიბის თანხა, ჯანმრთელობის დაზღვევა, გერმანული ენის კურსები.
პროექტი იწყება 1 სექტემბერს, ხანგრძლივობაა 12 თვე; საქართველოდან უნდა აირჩეს 1 მოხალისე!

Basic info about the EVS/ESC with ijgd in Berlin:
- The duration is 12 months from 1st of September to 31st of August
- We cooperate with about 16 EVS/ESC hosting projects in Berlin in the social field. You can
find a lot of information about the open projects on the European Youth Portal:

- Worktime in the project is 30-35 hours a week. Holidays are 24 days. Closing times of the projects (Christmas/Summer) are generally holiday times.

- We see EVS/ESC as a voluntary service with a group of volunteers. There will be, depending on the funding and accommodation-capacities, about 16-19 other EVS/ESC-volunteers in Berlin to share this year together with. Also, there will be contact to other ijgd-(ex)-
volunteers, both German and international.

- The volunteers live in flats with 1-4 other EVS/ESC-flatmates, one room each, with a shared kitchen and bathroom. The flat is given to the volunteer by ijgd. The responsible and caring use of our lovely flats is essential for the whole project “EVS/ESC with ijgd in Berlin”. The
flats are in Kreuzberg/Neukölln, normal students’ flats standard.

- The EVS/ESC provides: 150,- € (Pocket Money) per month, around 170 € + Lunch in the
project (“food-money”) for the month and a free public transport ticket in Berlin.
- Insurance: You can use your blue European Health Insurance Card in Germany, if you have
one. The EVS/ESC provides also a health and liability insurance by the program.
- Volunteers will attend an online language course by the EU. We also provide/fund one language course for several weeks to get into the language at your level.
- Preparation is done by the Sending Organisation in the home country which is part of this EVS/ESC-project, coordinated and run by ijgd.

'' Through Equality and Development Center I went to Poland for participation in youth project. ‘Feminism, the new F-word?‘ - that was the name of my first Erasmus + project, which took place in Gliwice from 5 to 12 October 2018. Within this training I met many people from foreign countries such as Italy, Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Ireland, Sweden, Macedonia, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, France and Bulgaria.
Within the project, we discussed about different problems around the world, first of all, of course, about feminism and sexism. During the training, we met the head of the city and discussed about local feminism issues. We had many activities, some of them were for fun and getting to know, others for introducing our countries. It was very interesting, because we discovered many new things about well or less known countries.
This project was very interesting for me. I got chance to make new friends, to improve my English and to discover a lot of things about different countries, their traditions, their citizens and others. I'm happy to have met such amazing people and made good friends. I'm glad that I was a participant of Erasmus + program. ''

'' With EDC I participated in European project under Erasmus + program “Feminism, the new F-word?” held in Gliwice, Poland during 5-12 October, 2018. There were friendly, dynamic, involved, and motivated people from 13 different countries: Georgia, Ireland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Egypt, Macedonia, Sweden, Italy, Tunisia, Jordan, Latvia, Poland, and France. People from various countries and nationalities still had the same goal – to discuss about this problem in a worldwide, to meet people from different countries, to share values, culture, traditions and by these activities become more tolerant.
This was my first time in Erasmus+ Program project. It was really unforgettable week for me. We had different types of sessions were we could share our stories and learn more about feminism and sexism. We made presentations of our NGOs. This session was fascinating, as we learned about many different organizations from worldwide. It feels good to see that so many people are working for better world, and better countries they live in. We met the mayor of city where we had chance to discuss about the issues of feminism, its problems and the ways it works in Gliwice. Meeting with journalist from the local newspaper was very interesting. We had also yoga lessons and some funny activities. One of my favorite one was when we had to create a short movie about successful women in history.
The’’ getting to know each other’’ activities were amazing as well. It was great for learn a lot much about a person just by the way they talk about special events in their lives. My first impression wasn't wrong and it really was an amazing group of people. It was really overwhelming with beautiful emotions; I enjoyed moment to see how everyone was super excited to get to know each other. It was easy to feel the energy through conversations. Everyone was really attentively listening to each other’s stories. This project was a ‘non judgmental territory’ and we were there to exchange our cultures thus accept each other openly and fully. This also broke the language barrier between us and made us feel comfortable with each other.
I just want to thank you all, especially stakeholders of Erasmus + program and organizers of this wonderful week in Poland. I learned a lot, got to meet awesome people, and visited new and interesting places. I will never forget this days.''

PYTHIA Koinsep is looking for 7 participants (15-22 years old) and 1 leader (with no age limit) that are residents of Georgia, for the approved Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Diversifi3D” (Project Reference Number: 2018-1-EL02-KA105-003911).
