Images purported to be official US Navy photographs have surfaced online. They capture an encounter between the nuclear-powered submarine USS *Trepang* (SSN-674) and unidentified flying objects in the Arctic Ocean in March 1971.

The photographs, allegedly taken during a transit between Iceland and the Norwegian island of Jan Mayen, bear the marking: "Official Photograph. Not to be Released." One of the images shows an object resembling a giant airship hovering above the ice.
