Can you imagine how much hodgepodge grows and bears in Azerbaijan, which has 9 out of 11 climate zones? You’ll be absolutely right saying EVERYTHING! One can find here pomegranates, tangerines, lemons, persimmons, feijoa, olives, kiwi fruit, queen-apples, almonds, as well as all more common to our people fruit, vegetables and nuts. Have no money and nothing to eat? Just look around, you’ll never remain hungry here.

In a small village right at the border with Iran some kind local people invited us to a wedding! It is interesting to know, that people here are keeping traditions and celebrate weddings in three parts and each collects from 200 to 1000 guests! First, newlyweds get engaged; then a bride gives a party; after a while, which can last up to 6 month, young marrieds go register their marriage officially and everybody celebrates groom's wedding. We were lucky to visit bride's celebrations, where, according to traditions, only women are having fun dancing, while men can only watch from the aside.

Lenkoran City made our representatives' of the sterner s*x dreams come true as we were hosted by a wonderful, cheerful Rashad, who works as manager of Lenkoran Xazar football team. We spent a whole week living in a private room right at the stafium!
We've been to all adjacent villages, lot lots of new friends and simply awesome people, and were even invited to a wedding! But let me come back to it later.

Pomegranate is considered to be one of the main symbols of Azerbaijan. More than 500 species of this fruit grow here. Locals eat dozens of kilos of granate! They add seeds as well as ground skin of the fruit as a spice to most dishes and sauces, make jam, juices and of course eat it fresh.
We went to pick up granates harvest by ourselves to local pomegranate center – Goychay.

Tip from a local: add some salt to peeled seeds of a granate, it tastes really good!

Not only sweet tooth would be delighted by Sheki cuisine. Each plate with traditional local dish Piti consists of both first and second meal. One little pottie, eaten for lunch, will definitely make you full till the end of the day. You'll ask me how, you'd better try yourself!

Georgia held us tight in its sweet embrace, but having harnessed all our willpower, we managed to cross the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan!
This pretty little country has a great deal of peculiarities in each region. For instance, Sheki, the first city we stayed in, is famous for its authentic architecture and a great deal of deliciousness. It's a real heaven for sweet tooth! In Ali Ahmet halvasi workshop we could watch the whole process of cooking these famous sweets – Sheki Halvas!

You know, for a month of wanderings across Georgia we’d been sleeping in really surprising places, a night in a regular bed was so uncommon that we had almost forgotten the way it looks and feels. Enjoy this collection of most unusual corners, where we’d spent a night or two during previous month.

Being close to Azerbaijan border, Sasha and Roma made a beasting towards Lagodekhi National Park, namely to the 40-meter high waterfall!

As a result 1 soaked camera and 2 extremely tired bodies after 10-hour climbing in exchange for meeting local rangers and a night in a postcard forest!
