Don't attach conditions to your neccesities

- The Commission for human Rights and Administrative Justice ( CHRAJ) has told all to desist from attaching conditions to things that are supposed to be given them as a society .
"It is inappropriate and as such amount to vote buying if the society request for amenities on condition that they vote for political candidates." It noted.
It said the society , per the law has been given the right to demand for infrastratures or amenities , adding that, they should demand anytime except on election years to curb instances where those necessities would be done in a rush.
Mr Tetteh Tuwor , the Central Regional Director of CHRAJ indicated that, the society has to help eliminate the opportunities of corruption and by so doing, vote buying needs to be abridged.
" We are in a nation where citizens would only rise and demand from their leaders during times of election , that is bad , that act is both unethical and illegal and could attract sanctions by the law." he said.
" Because of the reoccurance of such acts, Politicians sleeps on their numerous promises even though they know what needs to be done. they relax waiting to innitiate infrastructural development in election years so that they could win the votes of their people
He noted that, the society must take charge of the change they want to see as early as possible though it is unfortunate politicians understands the loud cries of their people only in election years
The Regional Director told the media that, voting for or against candidates should be by conscience, hence by nothing but by their deeds in times past.
He said it is time the Electoral Commission ( EC ) implemented guidelines to serve as checks on vote buying and selling and if found culprit, should be bold enough to met out sanctions and punishment in other to serve as deterrent to others.
He further urged citizens to make use of their rights effectively and demand when appropriate.

ALGH Marks International Leprosy day
The Ankaful Leprosy General Hospital ( ALGH) has on Sunday , marked the 66th celebration of world Leprosy day to raise awareness of the ancient disease that many people have either forgotten or believed to have been eliminated.
It also aimed that reminding the public that the disease is curable and to change the attitudes that stigmatize and marginalize people affected by the disease .
The celebration brought together Chiefs of the Ankaful town, workers of the Ghana Health Service , People with Leprosy challenges , and some government Officials , It was marked under the theme ; Uniting to over turn the stigmatization of Leprosy.
Dr Benedict Fokuo Kwaw , the Director and Specialist in charge of the ALGH noted that, Ghana has long eliminated Leprosy as a public health problem and this status is not under threat because elimination as a public problem means the Leprosy prevalence rate in the country is below the threshold of one per 10, 000 population.
He indicated that, leprosy does not selectively affect a particular race, age group , or s*x, and so everybody is at risk adding that anyone could potentially develop leprosy in the present or future and that should be humbling enough to prevent us from meeting out stigmatizing behavior to others who had the disease in the past but are living with its deformities.
" We simply can not achieve zero stigma without your help, let us collectively commit to overturn the stigma of leprosy so that, we do not turn a potentially dreadful but curable disease into a lifelong journey of reliving the pain of the disease.' he added.
Mr Jackson Kofi Nyarko, a Representative of Persons affected said it is not the end of the world for people who have been affected by leprosy, they have a future and can still live within their capacity and be fulfilled.
" It is just unfortunate that, some victims would have to live the rest of their lives deformed
