The Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), also known as Mahama Cares, has settled the medical bills of an eight-month-old baby to undergo life-saving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. The support, announced on February 3, 2026, is expected to ease the financial burden on the child’s family and ensure timely surgery and recovery.
Receiving the assistance on behalf of the patient, the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Dr. (Med) Abubakri Bawah Abdulai, assured representatives of the GMTF that the fund would be used to cover the cost of the child’s treatment. He expressed gratitude to the Trust Fund for responding promptly to the family’s request for support.
The intervention by the GMTF highlights ongoing efforts to provide critical medical assistance to vulnerable patients across the country.
