Be inspired Monday: "It is the little things citizens do. That's what will make the difference. My little thing is planting trees". Wangari maathai was the first African woman to win the Nobel peace prize and she founded the Green Belt Movement which empowered women to plant millions of trees to combat deforestation, erosion and poverty in Kenya. Despite political opposition, she persisted and continued showing that the grassroots movement can bring positive narrative and impact.
