Trash heaps don’t tell their own , people do. Yet across Africa, dozens of grassroots groups working on zero‑waste solutions still struggle to make their impact visible.

Slick consumer brands dominate the digital conversation, while community and waste‑pickers too often go unheard. That’s exactly the gap we hope to close with the  (ZWSB). Thanks to the Fund for making this possible.

Be inspired Monday: "It is the little things citizens do. That's what will make the difference. My little thing is planting trees". Wangari maathai was the first African woman to win the Nobel peace prize and she founded the Green Belt Movement which empowered women to plant millions of trees to combat deforestation, erosion and poverty in Kenya. Despite political opposition, she persisted and continued showing that the grassroots movement can bring positive narrative and impact.
