South African activist, Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has criticized African countries that celebrated Mexico’s 2-0 victory over South Africa at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to her, South Africa does not need support from countries that are happy to see them lose.

She said those same countries could later claim they supported South Africa if the team performs well at the tournament.

“We don’t need your support because in a few years you will be reminding us you supported us at the World Cup,” she said.

Her comments have sparked debate on social media, with many fans sharing different opinions on whether African nations should support fellow African teams at the World Cup.

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey is set to miss the Black Stars’ opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Panama after being denied entry into Canada.

Reports indicate that the midfielder will be unable to travel to Toronto for the match, dealing a major blow to Ghana ahead of their first Group L fixture.

Partey is one of the Black Stars’ most experienced players and has been a key figure in the team’s midfield.

His absence would be a significant setback as Ghana begins its World Cup campaign.

The Black Stars are scheduled to face Panama on Wednesday, 17th June, 2026 at 11PM in their opening match of the tournament.

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Sekondi College is preparing to petition the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) following the exclusion of 154 WASSCE candidates from writing their Chemistry paper.

According to reports, the affected students were denied entry into the examination hall after arriving late for the paper.

An anonymous candidate explained that heavy rainfall on the day of the examination delayed many students, causing them to arrive shortly before the scheduled start time.

Despite the weather-related challenges, the students were refused entry by an external invigilator and were unable to sit for the examination.

The incident has sparked concern among parents and school authorities, with the PTA arguing that the circumstances were beyond the students’ control.

The association is expected to formally petition WAEC, seeking intervention and a possible remedy for the affected candidates.

‎South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams:

“Africans have always supported other African countries in every World Cup tournament but I can't figure out why our own case is different. Many Africans supported Mexico, not us, the South Africans.

‎”We almost shed tears but truly this is sad. As Africans let's stand for each other, let's stand together "

Lawyer Mary Ohenewaa Afful has criticized teachers who physically assault students, saying such behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional.

Her comments follow the recent incident at Nyinahin Catholic SHS, where a teacher assaulted a female student, sparking public outrage.

Speaking on the matter, Afful questioned why teachers would engage in f|ghts with students instead of focusing on their duties.

“How much do teachers earn for them to be wasting time wrestling and beat|ng innocent students?” she asked.

She said teachers are expected to guide and discipline students through proper procedures, not through violence. She also called on GES to investigate the incident and take appropriate action against anyone found guilty.
