Between the chains and the river lies a mirror.
Today, standing at the Assin Manso Slave River Site, the air was thick with more than humidity. It carried memory. This was not just a place where bodies were washed; it was where names were stripped, identities traded, and futures rewritten without consent.
In my experiential learning journey, I have come to understand that history is not a distant archive. It is a living pulse. The earth here does not forget. The river still murmurs the grief of those who passed through, and in its reflection, I see the uncomfortable truth: we are the inheritors of both their wounds and their will.
Learning here is not about facts. It is about facing the deep question: What do we do with the freedom they never lived to enjoy?
May our steps, our voices, and our work say with conviction: Never Again.
