🔥 SEEKING GOD’S KINGDOM IS NOT WHAT MOST CHRISTIANS THINK IT IS 🔥 Please take time and Read this 🤔👇🏽
Matthew 6:33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Many people, let us read Matthew 6:33 carefully.
I am about to share something that many people have never been taught.
When we take a careful look at Matthew 6:33, the Scripture says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
These are the words of Jesus Christ Himself. He instructed us to seek first the Kingdom of God. The question I began to ask myself was: What exactly is the Kingdom of God?
Jesus knew what the Kingdom of God was. That is why He told us to seek it first. He understood its meaning, its purpose, and its value. He knew exactly what He was referring to when He commanded us to seek it.
Notice that He did not simply say, “Seek righteousness.” He said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.” These are two important truths.
As I studied the Scriptures, I noticed that Jesus sent His disciples out to preach. He instructed them to declare, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” He repeatedly emphasized this message.
The disciples preached, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
Now, if Jesus placed so much emphasis on the Kingdom, we must ask ourselves: What exactly is the Kingdom of God?
Jesus had a reason for making it a priority. He did not tell us to seek it last. He said to seek it first.
Even when Jesus began His earthly ministry, the first message He preached was the message of the Kingdom of Heaven. He spoke about it constantly. He told the scribes and Pharisees, “The Kingdom has come to you.”
So, what was this message of the Kingdom?
Many people think the Kingdom of Heaven is simply about church activities, Bible studies, ministry programs, church growth, finances, or religious routines. While those things have their place, they are not the heart of the Kingdom message Jesus preached.
The Kingdom of Heaven that Jesus spoke about was the restoration of mankind’s relationship with God. It was the reconciliation of people back to their Heavenly Father. It was an invitation back into the intimacy that Adam and Eve enjoyed with God in the Garden of Eden.
Jesus was emphasizing that humanity could once again walk closely with God.
When He told people to repent because the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand, He was announcing that the opportunity for restored fellowship with God had arrived.
In other words, the Kingdom is about intimacy with God. It is about returning to a living relationship with Him.
That is why Matthew 6:33 is far deeper than simply seeking blessings, material possessions, or even religious activities.
Many people interpret this verse to mean that if they stay busy doing church work, attending programs, praying, and participating in religious activities, then God will automatically give them everything they want.
But the focus of the verse is not merely activity,
it is relationship.
Jesus was teaching us to prioritize intimacy with God above everything else.
The Kingdom is a heavenly reality. It is a supernatural relationship between God and His people. When we choose to dwell in that relationship and fellowship with Him, everything else begins to fall into its proper place.
The strength of your Christian life depends on your connection with God.
Your spiritual growth depends on your intimacy with God.
Your effectiveness depends on your relationship with God.
In other words, it depends on the Kingdom you experience with Him.
Jesus also said, “and His righteousness.” This means that our pursuit of God must be done rightly. We must seek Him with a sincere heart, not to impress people, gain recognition, or fulfill religious obligations.
We seek Him based on the finished work of Jesus Christ and the righteousness He has given us.
So, Matthew 6:33 is ultimately about people being restored to intimacy with God. It is not primarily about material things. It is not merely about religious activities. It is about relationship.
From today, I pray that you will never read this Scripture the same way again.
