🚨So there’s this wolf, right? She’s known as Lupa, and she’s nursing two baby boys! These boys are Romulus and Remus, the sons of King Numitor, who ruled during the Roman era back in the 8th century BC, before Rome was even a thing.

Their evil uncle, Amulius, kicked their dad off the throne and ordered them to be thrown into the Tiber River. But lucky for them, Lupa saved them! Then a shepherd named Faustulus found the twins and raised them.

Later on, the twins decided to build a city. But things got messy—Romulus ended up killing Remus because they couldn’t agree on where to build it. Romulus named the city after himself, Rome, and ruled for forty years. So now, the story of the wolf is one of the coolest legends about Rome, and that’s why it’s on the city’s team logo.

Engineers & Planners to begin development of Black Volta Mine

Wholly Ghanaian owned mining company, Engineers and Planners Ltd (E&P), has officially assumed full management and control of Azumah Resources following a successful transfer of the shares of the latter to the former.

This means that the Black Volta Mine in the Upper West region will now be under the management and operation of E&P.

To announce the transfer of ownership, fun games were organised in Nadowli to signify friendship and unity in the process.

Mr. Wahid Bampouri Iddris, Community Relations Director at E&P, who opened the fun games, said the intention of E&P is to allow "mining to unite us in the Upper West region." He disclosed that E&P "[has] the resources and the funding to start the development phase as soon as possible."

At the 2nd Africa–CARICOM Summit, I had the honor of delivering remarks on behalf of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of Ghana and AU Champion for Reparations.

This historic gathering, under the theme “Transcontinental Partnership in Pursuit of Reparatory Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations,” reaffirmed our shared commitment to justice, dignity, and accountability.

Some key points were raised:
• Support for the AU Commission of Experts on Reparations and the Global Reparations Fund, jointly established with CARICOM, to coordinate claims and mobilize resources.
• Emphasis on reparations as a multi-dimensional agenda, beyond financial redress, encompassing historical acknowledgment, land recovery, cultural renewal, policy reforms, and community empowerment.
• A call to progressive nations to join efforts to make reparations a global reality through diplomacy, legal frameworks, funding mechanisms, and moral responsibility.
• Recognition of the Decade of Reparations, giving the continent and the diaspora a decisive window to deliver tangible outcomes.
• Ghana and Togo will co-host a high-level reparations event on the margins of the UN General Assembly in September 2025.

Reparations are not only about the past; they are about shaping a just, humane, and equitable future. Together, Africa and CARICOM must seize this Decade of Reparations with courage, unity, and resilience. As Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah said: “Forward ever, backward never.”
