Stop chasing wee smokers and go after the pushers- Essikadu manhene to security agencies.

The paramount chief of Essikadu traditional area Nana Kobina Nketsia V has ugded the law enforcement agencies to stop chasing wee smokers, instead should go after the pushers who sell drug to the users.

According to him, if the law enforcement agencies want to address the issue relating to the use of illegal substances then, they should rather focus on the pushers who are the main traffickers.

Nana Kobina Nketsia made this remarks at a workshop on the Narcotics Control Commission ACT 2020 ( ACT 1019).

The workshop was organized by Perfection of sentiments Foundation (POS foundation) in partnership with international drug policy consortium (IDPC) and West Africa drug policy network (WADPN) Ghana chapter with founding from Open Society Foundation.

The workshop was on the team: "Understanding the Narcotics Control Commission Act 2020 (Act 2019); The Role of Law Enforcement and Prosecutors in health, Rights-based best practices to handling people who use drugs in the Implementation of the Act."

" There are a lot of people building and we don't know their source of income and we don't ask but chases the youth who buy one roll and smoke" Nana noted.

*OKADA RIDER SHOT IN ASSIN DUNKWA*

A 30-year-old Okada rider, Kwame Prah, has been shot by a passenger he was travelling with at Assin Dunkwa near Assin Fosu.

The suspect picked the Okada rider from Assin Assin Adiembra to take him to Assin South through Assin Fosu. Upon reaching Assin Fosu, the suspect who was carrying a big Ghana must go bag, then changed the route a demanded that the rider takes him to Assin Dunkwa instead-butut in the process, he snatched the motorcycle and shot the rider.

The victim is currently battling for his life at St. Francis Hospital in Assin Fosu whilst the suspect is on the run.

*ASSIN FOSO MUNICIPAL NATIONAL YOUTH AUTHORITY SECRETARIAT ENLIGHTEN ASSIN FOSO ARTISAN YOUTH ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS DEVELOPMENT*

The Assin Foso municipal of the National youth Authority has on Tuesday Organized an entrepreneurship and Financial management Seminar for the youth Artisan in the Assin Foso municipality. About 40 participate were recorded in the Activity.

The program which was under the theme facilitating youth development have been an educative and informative one.

Ampoomah kotoka, the officer in charge for the Assin Foso municipal of the national youth authority secretariat explained to the media that, their focus for organising such an educative seminar for the Assin Foso artisan youth is to equip them with entrepreneurship ideas and skills so as for them to accept and believe that adding various entrepreneurship skills to their existing plans could add much value to their lives

speaking at the seminar was Williams Ampong the speaker for youth parliament in the three Assin constituencies. He stated that, the seminar was organized as part of their yearly activities to reduce the rate of Unemployment in the constituency by encouraging the youth to venture into entrepreneurship skills and crate jobs for themselves.

Another prominent personality who graced the Occasion was Boakye Atta Kwasi Junior who is from the Business Advisory center in the Assin Foso municipal. He, speaking to the media said, he made himself available to enlighten the youth About how they can establish their own Business and brighten their view on the processes to acquire loans as capital to start business , create Busssiness plan and register business. He further advised the youth not to rely on one source of income for their leaving but engage in other entrepreneurship activitives so as to add more value to their lives.

Honorable Edward Obeng's intentions was to help the parents and also the needy but brilliant students in his electoral area.

He added, there are so many challenge in his electoral area such as water, street bulbs which he is calling on the DECE and the MP for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa.
