The Ghana National Fire Service has announced that it responded to two (2) separate accident incidents in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

The Amasaman Fire Station officers responded to a situation involving a VIP Yutong bus that had collided with a concrete barricade at Fise.

The other incident involved a Man diesel trailer that had the head section extensively damaged by fire at McCarthy Hill.

Both incidents recorded no casualties with investigations undergoing.

Construction of the Dambai Bridge (1.5 km) 🚧
The government is undertaking an initiative to construct two of the longest bridges spanning water bodies in Ghana. These are the Afram Bridge (3.6 km) in the Eastern Region and the Dambai Bridge (1.5 km) in the Oti Region.
The Dambai Bridge project commenced in January 2026 and is expected to be completed in May 2029.
