This year we planted an acre of nunum basil, an indigenous spice from Ghana west Africa. We are proud to be a seed farming entity!

Ocimum gratissimum, Oregano flavored African basil, offers a wide range of potential health benefits. These include maintaining eye health, improving heart function, aiding digestion, lowering blood sugar, acting as an insect repellent, treating fungal infections, and alleviating diarrhea. The plant is also used traditionally for various ailments, including diabetes, cancer, inflammation, and bacterial infections.

Why is it important for children and teachers of children to understand the need to integrate gardening, seed saving and agro-forestry into our curriculum. My work with Kent State University and Dr. Janice Kroeger (Ph.D. Professor, Early Childhood Education) is exceptional in keeping this mission alive!

Luckily enough, I’m received a fresh copy of just published material that featured my work, happy to be seeing my work travel around the globe!

Dr. Shaw thank you for great work with the kids.

We started producing this amazing blue tumeric from a single plant since 2019. Today we harvested about 30 kilograms from our field, this has an amplifying flavor of mixture the orange turmeric and ginger. This produces larger rhizomes compared to the orange kind and the more this drys the deeper its color becomes. We are hoping to expand our field to an acre early January 2025!

Over 50 kilograms of seeds are expected to be collected from our current field of Pink Beauty Amaranth.

This is unquestionably one of the most loved things we grow here on our farm. Tender stems and leaves makes great palaver sauce, great combination in peanut and palm nut soups.

Here’s another collection to our heirloom / traditional hot pepper from Ghana called Tootoo. It’s been in existence for over 200 years, the name comes from the sound when you p**p the pepper between fingers. This is very common in Ghana and 2nd most used prolific pepper variety.

Seeds are moving elements and must be shared respectfully; therefore, we must not be selfish with them.
