Today, I went to Community 1 to check something on my motorbike. On my way, I saw a man going to work at a site, so I decided to give him a lift. He wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Before we got to Community 1, the police stopped us. I explained that I’m not an Okada rider and that I was only helping the man get to work, but they didn’t listen. They said I had to pay GH₵500 and took my motorbike to their office.
When we got there, they saw my electrical tools in the boot and asked if I was an electrician. I said yes. They then asked me to help them with some electrical problems.
I fixed their faulty AC, changed some sockets, and also checked the lights in the commander’s office.
After I finished, the commander asked how much ? I told him not to worry about it and explained how I ended up at the station.
The commander gave me GH₵200 and told me to take my motorbike and go. When I went back to the officers, they also gave me GH₵100 and released my motorbike. 😂
So, the same situation that made me angry ended with me going home with GH₵300, my motorbike, and the commander’s contact for future work. 🙏🏾😂
The lesson is simple> when something bad happens, don’t react too quickly. Stay calm. God can turn a bad situation into a blessing.
Today, I experienced it myself.
