In Part 2 of our visit to the , we’re taken on a meaningful stop at the Supporters Wall a symbolic space that honors the leaders, icons, and allies who have made lasting contributions to the African diaspora.

Led by Charity, we reflect on the significance of names etched into this wall from former Presidents and heads of state, to civil rights heroes and pioneering businesses.

This wall tells a powerful story: one of commitment, sacrifice, and global solidarity.

Watch today’s episode and stay tuned for the next part of our Diaspora Corner series as we continue this journey of impact and reconnection.

This week on Diaspora Corner, we had the honor of paying a visit to the Diaspora African Forum (DAF)

In Part 1, we begin our tour at the Sankofa Wall, a sacred memorial space honoring the lives and legacies of prominent global African descendants who have shaped history, including Maya Angelou and Chadwick Bosemam.

Led by Charity, this tour gave us a deeper understanding of how the DAF serves as both a physical and symbolic bridge connecting Africa and its diaspora.

The Sankofa Wall reminds us that while we may live oceans apart, our roots run deepand our collective stories are worth preserving and celebrating.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of our visit as we continue to spotlight spaces that embody the spirit of reconnection and heritage.

Her time in Ghana deeply influenced her work and her soul.
Her story is a reminder that the bond between Africa and its diaspora is not only historical… it’s deeply personal.

SWIPE through to learn about her journey, her contributions, and how Ghana helped shape the legend we know today.

Moving to Ghana? Here’s the Cheat Code the Diaspora Is Using 🇬🇭
When people talk about relocating to Ghana, the conversation usually starts with logistics—visas, housing, work permits. But ask those who’ve successfully made the move, and they’ll tell you the real cheat code is community.

Whether you’re still dreaming, planning, or already living in Ghana, there’s an entire ecosystem of diaspora groups, associations, and support networks waiting to welcome you home.

- From cultural associations to professional circles, women’s networks to wellness communities—these groups offer guidance, support, and real-life tips you won’t find in any relocation blog.

5 Industries You Should Be Investing In Right Now

Africa is the youngest continent in the world—and Ghana sits at its heart, full of energy, innovation, and untapped potential.

As the country continues to position itself as a gateway to the continent, there’s never been a better time to invest. And the best part? There’s room at the table for those with bold ideas, purpose-driven missions, and a desire to leave lasting impact.

At Beyond the Return, we believe investing in Ghana isn’t just about building wealth—it’s about building legacy.

So if you’ve been considering how and where to begin your journey, here are 5 key sectors that are not only growing fast—but need your contribution:

- Technology & Digital Solutions
Ghana’s tech ecosystem is booming. From fintech to e-commerce to mobile innovation, the digital economy is shaping the future of how people work, bank, and live.

- Agriculture & Agri-Tech
With over 60% of the population relying on agriculture, there’s a growing need for modern farming tools, processing facilities, and export strategies. The right investment here can feed the nation—and the world.

- Tourism & Hospitality
Ghana’s rich culture, welcoming people, and deep history make it a prime destination. Boutique hotels, curated tours, and cultural centers are just a few ways the diaspora can make an impact.

- Real Estate & Sustainable Development
As urban areas expand and the middle class grows, there's rising demand for housing, commercial spaces, and sustainable community developments.

- Education & Skills Training
With a youthful population, education and vocational training are essential. Programs that build digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and trades are in high demand.
🌍 Whether you’re ready to return, relocate, or simply give back—your ideas are needed.

And remember: you don’t have to do it alone.

Our doors are open! Visit the Beyond the Return Office during your next stay in Ghana. We’ll walk you through how to invest, contribute, and make Ghana your home—step by step.

✨ The future is bright. The opportunity is now.
Let’s build it—together.

This year, Nana Akosua celebrates not as a visitor, not as an outsider, but as a citizen—a Ghanaian by choice and by deep connection, having called this land home for over two decades. Ghana’s independence was not just a national victory, but a milestone for Africa and the entire Pan-African world.

When Ghana declared freedom in 1957, it became the first African nation to break the chains of colonial rule, lighting a torch that would inspire liberation movements across the continent. Kwame Nkrumah’s call “The independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it is linked up with the total liberation of Africa”still echoes today!

As someone who has lived, worked, and built a life here, I have witnessed the spirit of resilience, unity, and progress that defines Ghana. This day is a reminder that our shared history as Africans, whether by birth or by the journey of return, binds us together in a common destiny.

About Beyond The return

Beyond the Return” is a follow-up to the successful ‘Year of Return, Ghana 2019’ campaign which commemorated the 400th Anniversary of the arrival of the first recorded enslaved Africans in Jamestown Virginia in 1619. The landmark campaign also celebrated the resilience of the African over the past 400 years and welcomed all people of African origin to return to Africa especially Ghana.

Beyond the Return – is a 10-year project under the theme, “A decade of African Renaissance-2020-2030” and will be built on several pillars.

It will provide a platform for engagements among the people of African descent, wherever they may currently be living. The project and its pillars will be officially unveiled in February 2020.
