President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday handed over forty (40) state-of-the-art armoured vehicles to the Ghana Police Service, emphasising his administration's commitment to adequately resourcing security agencies in the fight against crime.

The fleet includes fifteen (15) armoured pickups, five Cobra-Four, and twenty Cobra-Three special armoured cars, all fitted with cutting-edge electronic systems designed to enhance police operations in high-risk environments.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, President Mahama said the vehicles are not mere symbols but operational tools intended to strengthen police response capabilities, enhance officer protection during dangerous operations, and reinforce patrols in rugged terrain and high-crime zones.

A school bus carrying students of Wesley Grammar School caught fire at the Kasoa Tollbooth on Friday, November 28, but fortunately, all passengers managed to escape.
