I spent over two hours of my Good Friday evening watching Black Sherif responds to questions and, I learnt a lot of things.... Infact, I enjoyed it till the last second.
MY HIGHLIGHTS FROM HIS INTERVIEW WITH Kafui Dey BELOW.
👉He Never Forgot the People from His Come Up
He could mention the name of every single person he came across during his come up. No fumbling at all. Adom, Farouk, Bula, and others. That level of recall and acknowledgment says a lot.
👉Constant Acknowledgement of God
There was acknowledgment of God at every point in time. As he said, “Nobody knows what God go fit do.” It clearly shows how central his faith is to his journey.
👉His Mother as His Biggest Inspiration
His mother stood out as his biggest inspiration. You could feel how important she is in his life story.
👉Losing Interest in Academics
He spoke about losing interest in academics at a point, even though he was ranking high in school. That phase affected his output.
👉Understanding the Complexities of Life
He acknowledged the complexities of life. He said he has no advice for anyone as of today, unlike a few years ago when he could give plenty of words of advice.
👉Short Conversations, Big Impact
One line that stood out was, “Some of the biggest happenings come from the shortest convos.” Simple, but very deep.
👉Conscious of His Student Status
He was always conscious of his student status, not just in a traditional school setting, but in life as well.
👉From Fantasy to Reality
He thought the music scene was a fantasy world, but later came to a different realization about it.
👉The Frimpong Identity
He is Frimpong because that was who he was at a point. He had to change it because he felt he no longer belonged back at the Islamic school.
👉Determined to Get His Degree
He made it clear that he will definitely go back to get that degree, no matter what. This should inspire us all to get back to grab that degree.
