TRAINING FOR GOSPEL HERALDS AHEAD OF “KETE-KRACHI FOR CHRIST” CRUSADE
The Kete-Krachi Area of The Church of Pentecost in collaboration with The Evangelism Ministry of The Church of Pentecost HQ. has organized a comprehensive training programme for Gospel Heralds and Scouting personnel in preparation for the much-anticipated "Kete-Krachi for Christ Crusade". The training session was held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Lakeside Assembly in the Kete-Krachi Area.
The event was chaired by the Area Head, Apostle Charles K. Fosu, and attracted a large attendance comprising selected pastors of the Area, executives of the Evangelism Ministry and Gospel Heralds from the various districts within the Area.
Among the dignitaries present were Pastor Musa Yahaya, National Evangelism Secretary; Pastor Emmanuel Eshun, Kete-Krachi Area Secretary; Pastor Dennis Gatorwu of Hohoe PIWC; and other Pastorate and wives of The Area, officers, Executives of the Area and Districts Evangelism Ministry.
In his exhortation, Apostle Charles K. Fosu emphasized the crucial role Gospel Heralds play in advancing the Kingdom of God through soul-winning. Referencing (Romans 1:16), he encouraged the participants to overcome fear and shame and boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
According to him, the Church must remain active in propagating the Gospel and reaching out to the lost. He stressed that the vision of the Kete-Krachi Area is to "make Jesus famous again" through aggressive evangelism, soul-winning, discipleship, and by showcasing the impact and presence of the Church in the Area.
Apostle C.K. Fosu further noted that Gospel Heralds would play a central role in the success of the upcoming crusade. He disclosed that comprehensive reports of the crusade activities would ultimately be submitted to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost desk.
He also announced that the crusade would feature special sessions for prayer, deliverance, healing, and Holy Spirit infilling.
Speaking on the objectives of the crusade, the Area Head revealed that the Area had set a target of 3,500 souls to be won for Christ. To achieve this goal, each district within the Area has been assigned a target of 103 souls, in addition to targets received from the national level Evangelism operational 800,000 souls Project.
He underscored the responsibility of District Pastors to ensure that newly won converts are baptized and properly integrated into the life of the Church.
Addressing the sacrifices required of Gospel Heralds, The Area Head urged participants to commit themselves wholeheartedly to the work. He highlighted the following areas of sacrifice:
1.Sacrificing personal time for evangelistic activities.
2.Investing personal resources, including airtime and transportation costs.
3.Intensifying prayer efforts for the success of the crusade.
4.Praying for God’s protection and travelling mercies for all Gospel Heralds.
5.Demonstrating unwavering commitment to the Great Commission.
He further assured all participants that the Kete-Krachi Area had made adequate arrangements to cater for the feeding and accommodation of the Gospel Heralds throughout the evangelistic exercise and crusade period.
Pastor Musa Yahaya, The National Evangelism Secretary, emphasized that effective follow-up remains essential for retaining converts and ensuring their spiritual growth.
He outlined key follow-up principles, including:
•Taking and verifying the contact information of converts immediately.
•Obtaining accurate residential locations.
•Recording the names by which converts are commonly known.
•Collecting contact details of at least one additional relative or acquaintance.
•Reaching out to converts within 24 hours after contact.
•Sharing contact information with church officers and teams responsible for follow-up.
•Preparing budgets dedicated to follow-up activities.
•Maintaining regular communication through visits and telephone calls.
•Using friendly and welcoming greetings when engaging converts.
•Establishing communication teams to regularly check on new converts.
•Praying before embarking on follow-up visits.
•Prioritizing personal visits as the most effective means of follow-up; where visits are not possible, telephone calls should be made.
•Assigning converts to appropriate groups for nurturing, discipleship, and continued monitoring.
Pastor Musa Yahaya emphasized that the soul-winning assignment of Gospel Heralds begins one week before the crusade, as they serve as the frontline evangelists in the entire outreach effort. He further noted that the real work begins after the crusade through intentional discipleship and retention strategies.
Commitment to a Successful Crusade
The training ended with renewed commitment among participants to work diligently to ensure the success of the "Kete-Krachi for Christ Crusade".
The Area leadership reaffirmed its support for the Gospel Heralds through the provision of accommodation and feeding throughout the exercise.
Following the training session, all participants were served a meal, bringing the event to a successful close.
