At the launch of the Film Development Fund by the on Wednesday 20th May 2026, Board Chairman of the National Film Authority, Ivan Quashigah, was direct about the weight of the moment and the responsibility it carries.

On the GHS 20 million fund, he said:
โ€œThe film fund is not a bonanza. The 20 million Ghana cedis allocation must therefore be seen not as an end in itself, but as a seed that must be nurtured to bear the desired fruit. The success or failure of this intervention will depend largely on how responsibly and strategically we deploy it.โ€

He also called on all those interested in the exhibition and promotion of Ghanaian films to register with the NFA and join the Ghana Cinema Train; a collaborative national exhibition structure designed to strengthen distribution across all regions of the country.
