It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since we launched Let’s Rediscover Africa (LRA) a vision brought to life to deepen connections, celebrate culture, and unearth the stories that bind us.

From the shores of Ghana to Florida for our first fashion show to the heart of Bermuda, LRA has been more than an event; it has been a movement of discovery, collaboration, and heritage.

In this throwback, we reflect on the incredible Ghana Series in Bermuda, where we celebrated our Founder Karen Hendrickson’s unique heritage and her mission to foster a bridge between Ghana and Bermuda.

For Karen, this journey is personal. As a proud Bermudian with deep connections to Africa, she believes that rediscovering Africa starts with connection to culture, to history, and to one another.

Through LRA, she has proven that storytelling and shared experiences can transform perspectives and build bridges across continents.

As we continue to shape and refine our core components, the essence of our mission remains unwavering: to inspire and connect through authentic storytelling.

Today, I want to use this anniversary to encourage each of you. If there's a passion or a dream you've been holding onto, take that step. The path may not always be clear and the outcomes uncertain, but there is incredible power in beginning. This past year has shown me that things have a way of aligning when you move forward with purpose and passion.

Let's not wait for the perfect moment. It's in the act of doing that we find our direction and redefine our possibilities. Here's to reinventing ourselves, to growing beyond our boundaries, and to the endless potential that awaits when we dare to leap.

A couple of weeks ago, I had the immense honor of attending the 90th Birthday celebration of the remarkable Sir Solomon Quaynor. What a beautiful occasion it was, filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of enduring friendships.

Being in Africa, I am constantly reminded of the deep bonds of friendship that transcend time and distance. Celebrating milestones like Sir Solomon’s 90th birthday reaffirms the importance of cherishing our connections and the incredible journey of life we share together.

As we honored Sir Solomon, I couldn’t help but reflect on the essence of true friendship and the richness it brings to our lives. In Africa, relationships are treasured, and moments like these highlight the power of unity and support.

Money matters, but it’s the relationships and shared experiences that truly enrich our lives. Being part of such a close-knit community in Africa has been a gift, reminding me daily of the beauty and strength found in our friendships.
