The Ghana Tourism Authority, Upper East Office, led by the Regional Director, Mr. Wisdom Ahadzi, participated in the “Fire Festival” in Bongo. The festival is celebrated annually by the chiefs and people of the Bongo Traditional Area in the Upper East Region of Ghana. It commemorates the victory, inheritance, and creation of present-day Bongo, marking the time when the Bongo people took the land. The festival involves displays of burning fire, drumming, dancing, and the display of real powers among the people.

This festival indeed has tremendous potential, which needs to be properly packaged to attract visitors.
