🇹🇭A 24-year-old footballer has tragically died after being struck by lightning during a football match in Narathiwat Province, southern Thailand.

The incident occurred during the Golok Cup regional tournament as a monsoon storm swept across the stadium. According to local authorities, the lightning strike killed Safwan Awae, while 12 other players sustained injuries, including burns. All of the injured were rushed to hospital for treatment. Despite emergency responders' efforts to revive him, Awae was later pronounced dead.

The heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through Thailand's football community, with tributes pouring in for the young player, who had recently signed for Thai League 3 club FC Yala.

Former MASLOC CEO Sedina Christine Attionu Tamakloe has been acquitted and discharged by the Court of Appeal, overturning her previous conviction and 10-year prison sentence.

A unanimous three-member panel comprising Justice Emmanuel Ankamah (Presiding), Justice Samuel Daewuo, and Justice Emmanuel Amedahe ruled that the prosecution failed to prove her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The court's full 94-page judgment is expected to be released by the close of today.
