Ghanaian gospel artist Empress Gifty won the Artiste of the Year award at the 2025 Ghana Music Awards USA, held on August 17 in New Jersey. She competed against nominees including other top secular artistes, marking a rare victory for gospel in a crossover category.

Gifty also received the Gospel Song of the Year award for her track. In her acceptance speech, she dedicated the honours to God and her late mother. "This is for every gospel artist pushing boundaries," she stated.

Social media saw an outpouring of congratulations from fans and peers in the industry.

The event recognises Ghanaian musical talent in the diaspora.

In a significant boost for African gospel music, renowned Ghanaian gospel minister Nana Yaw Boakye, popularly known as MOGmusic, has signed a global partnership with Integrity Music's Integrated Music Rights (IMR). The announcement, made on August 18, 2025, positions MOGmusic alongside international worship icons like Dunsin Oyekan, Matt Redman, and Darlene Zschech.

This collaboration grants MOGmusic access to Integrity's extensive resources for publishing, digital distribution, and promotion, aiming to expand his ministry worldwide. "We're delighted to welcome to Integrity Music's Integrated Music Rights family," the label stated on Instagram.

MOGmusic, celebrated for hits like "Be Lifted" and his pastoral role, expressed excitement about amplifying the African voice in global worship. The deal coincides with the release of his new single, "Your Name Jesus," featuring Na Mercy Sinclair, set to drop on August 22, 2025.
