Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Ghana’s Education Minister, has spoken: “I don’t understand the logic of putting private schools on Free SHS.”
And honestly… same. Because imagine walking into a private school, paying fees with your left hand, then saying, “Wait, please return it with my right hand — Free SHS has arrived.”
Private schools were literally created for people who wanted extra luxury — smaller classes, air-conditioned classrooms, teachers who don’t shout “Shut up!” but say “Can we lower our voices, please?” Now someone wants government to sponsor that lifestyle? Hmm. Next thing, people will be asking for Free DSTV Premium and Free iPhones in the name of equity.
