Parliament of Ghana Approves GETFund Allocation for Educational Projects

In a move to boost educational development in Ghana, Parliament has approved the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to allocate ¢200,000 to each Member of Parliament for educational projects in their constituencies. Additionally, each MP will receive ¢150,000 to oversee the implementation of these projects.

This allocation is part of the GETFund’s efforts to support educational infrastructure and programs across the country. The fund has been instrumental in financing various educational projects, including the construction of schools, provision of educational materials, and training of teachers.

Previous allocations have shown significant impacts, with the GETFund allocating GH¢1.87 billion for the promotion of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET), completion of senior high school (SHS) projects, and provision of basic schools.

The approval of this allocation is expected to further enhance the quality of education in Ghana, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
