It is not easy living in a different country. I have struggled to secure accommodation and have been rejected more than five times due to my Nigerian nationality. Furthermore, housing is extremely expensive, with ordinary places in Ghana costing 13,000 cedis, equivalent to 1.3 million naira, which is overwhelming.

Relationships today often fail because too many people are still emotionally tied to their past. We end up dating people who haven’t healed, who are still in love with their exes, using us to fill a void or prove a point. We carry the weight of insecurities we didn’t cause, and try to fix hearts we didn’t break.

Many are not ready to love, they’re just trying to move on. You become the rebound, the distraction, the temporary comfort until they find someone else.

So don’t rush into a relationship just to escape loneliness. Take time to understand someone’s intentions. Healing should happen before loving again, not during.
