Champs Hub and OKB Farms Launch “Ride Safe, Return Safe” Campaign Ahead of 2025 Street Jamboree

Juapong, Ghana — October 14, 2025 — As part of pre-event activities for this year’s highly anticipated Street Jamboree, Champs Hub Ghana, in collaboration with OKB Farms, has officially launched the “Ride Safe, Return Safe” campaign to promote road safety among commercial motor riders in Juapong and surrounding communities.

The campaign kicked off with the distribution of reflective vests boldly inscribed with the message “Ride Safe, Return Safe” to dozens of motor riders. The initiative aims to raise public awareness and encourage safer riding practices in the lead-up to, during, and after the Street Jamboree festivities.

Speaking on Ana 93.3FM, Mcee Flexal, a representative of Champs Hub Ghana, emphasized that the campaign is a core part of the event production company’s commitment to community safety. “We believe safety is a shared responsibility. These reflectors are not just gear—they’re a message to every rider and every road user,” he said.

Mcee Flexal also revealed that plans are underway to announce the official date and full lineup of activities for the 2025 edition of Street Jamboree, which will once again take place at the Charico International School Park in Juapong.

Now in its fourth year, Street Jamboree has grown into the Volta Region’s most patronized December outdoor event, drawing thousands of attendees for a vibrant mix of music, live performances, aerobics, and cultural celebration.

Cybersecurity Chief Calls for Resilience, Skills and Stronger Enforcement.

In an era where digital connectivity underpins nearly every facet of society, from banking and communication to health and education, the threats posed by cybercrime are not only increasing—they’re also growing more sophisticated. Recently, Ghana’s acting Director‑General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Divine Selase Agbeti, made a clarion call: for resilience, for strengthening skills, and for stronger enforcement of cybersecurity laws. His message is timely, urgent, and carries implications not only for Ghana but for all nations navigating the evolving cyber threat landscape.

KEY CONCERNS RAISED

Here are the main issues Agbeti and the CSA have flagged:

1. Escalating Cyber Threats and Low Awareness
As technology advances, so do threats—from phishing and scams to more advanced intrusions. Agbeti pointed out that even where awareness exists, overconfidence and human error remain big vulnerabilities. Simple tactics still succeed.

2. Skills Shortage and Talent Drain
There’s a serious gap in trained cybersecurity professionals. Even when individuals are trained in the public sector, many are lured away by better-paying private roles or overseas opportunities. This weakening of institutional capacity is a major risk for protecting critical infrastructure.

3. Weak Compliance and Tokenism
In some institutions, cybersecurity roles are symbolic. CISOs may be appointed to fulfill regulatory requirements, but in practice their authority is limited. This “tick‑box” approach undermines real security.

4. Need for Stronger Enforcement and Legal Tools
From January 2026, the CSA plans to intensify enforcement under the existing Cybersecurity Act. There are also plans for legislative reform to expand investigatory and prosecutorial powers, plus the establishment of a cyber court.

5. Public Outreach, Education & Culture Building
Embedding cybersecurity practices is not just about regulation—it’s also about culture. The CSA is emphasizing education from primary schools up through tertiary levels to instil habits like changing passwords, using multi‑factor authentication, safe online behaviour.

WHY THIS MATTERS
• Critical Infrastructure is at Risk
Sectors like finance, energy, health, and telecommunications are increasingly digital. Vulnerabilities here don’t just threaten data—they threaten lives, economic stability, and national security.
• Reputational and Financial Costs
Non‑compliance or breaches can lead to financial losses, regulatory sanctions, and reputational damage. Organizations that ignore cybersecurity do so at great risk.
