I'm sharing this with a heavy heart and deep concern. Residents of Kpone Bawalashie, Palm Wine Junction, Dodowa, and New Obosomase are living in fear because of the ongoing blasting activities at Day Shine Stone Quarry. New Obosomase sits directly above the Dodowa Forest, yet heavy dynamite blasting is carried out regularly. The ground shakes violently, houses tremble, walls crack, and people panic. Some homes are just 25 to 100 meters away from the blasting area. Yes, sometimes warnings are given, but let's be honest, not everyone can run out of their house in time. Elderly people, children, the sick, and even those caught unaware are often left exposed. When the blast goes off, people run out in fear, not knowing if their homes will still be standing. What hurts the most is that many of these houses were here long before the quarry came, yet no proper consultation, relocation, or compensation was done. Families feel trapped and unheard. This issue was reported to the EPA years ago, but sadly, nothing has changed. Blasting continues, and fear continues. We are not against development; we are asking for safe, responsible development that respects human life, communities, and our forests. As Ghana continues to talk about resetting and building a better future, surely this kind of suffering should not be allowed to continue. We humbly appeal to the EPA, the Office of the President, the Police, the Fire Service, the Minerals Commission, and local authorities to please look into this matter and protect the people. All we want is to live safely in our homes. If you're reading this, please share. Not for noise, but so the right people see it.
