GPCL COMMISERATES WITH GOVERNMENT AND FAMILIES AFTER TRAGIC HELICOPTER CRASH
ACCRA, GHANA – August 8, 2025 – The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) extends its deepest condolences to the government, the Ghana Armed Forces, Ministries and Agencies and the families of the eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The company mourns the passing of:
• Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence
• Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed (MP), Minister for Environment, Science and Technology
• Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator and former Minister for Food and Agriculture
• Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress
• Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate
• Squadron Leader Peter Baafemi Anala
• Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu
• Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah
These individuals met their untimely deaths while en route to the Black Park in Obuasi for the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme. They were known for their tenacity and commitment to national development, particularly their work on responsible mining. They will be forever remembered and honored.
In this moment of profound grief, we pray that the Lord grants eternal rest to the departed souls and comforts the President, the government, the families, the security forces, and all loved ones of the deceased, as well as the entire nation.
May their patriotic deeds and selfless service never be forgotten.
