GPCL COMMISERATES WITH GOVERNMENT AND FAMILIES AFTER TRAGIC HELICOPTER CRASH

ACCRA, GHANA – August 8, 2025 – The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) extends its deepest condolences to the government, the Ghana Armed Forces, Ministries and Agencies and the families of the eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The company mourns the passing of:
• Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence
• Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed (MP), Minister for Environment, Science and Technology
• Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator and former Minister for Food and Agriculture
• Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress
• Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate
• Squadron Leader Peter Baafemi Anala
• Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu
• Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah
These individuals met their untimely deaths while en route to the Black Park in Obuasi for the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme. They were known for their tenacity and commitment to national development, particularly their work on responsible mining. They will be forever remembered and honored.
In this moment of profound grief, we pray that the Lord grants eternal rest to the departed souls and comforts the President, the government, the families, the security forces, and all loved ones of the deceased, as well as the entire nation.
May their patriotic deeds and selfless service never be forgotten.

GPCL Strengthens Governance with Inauguration of New Audit Committee

ACCRA, GHANA – July 21, 2025 – The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) today marked a significant milestone in its commitment to robust corporate governance and financial transparency with the official inauguration of its new Audit Committee. The pivotal ceremony, held at the GPCL Head Office, was chaired by the distinguished Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) Mr. Thomas Thompson-Aryee, signaling a strong collaborative effort towards enhanced accountability.
The inauguration was attended by the Director-General of the IAA welcoming all attendees, including members of the GPCL Board of Directors, senior management, the newly constituted Audit Committee members, and representatives from various government agencies.
In his opening remarks, the Managing Director of GPCL thanked the IAA Director-General, his team, and the incoming committee members for their commitment. He highlighted the company's progress in forming key committees and completing its Board with the addition of the Audit Committee. Emphasizing the importance of accountability and transparency, he described the Audit as a key pillar of transparency and urged the committee to give their best to ensure effective performance.
Following the remarks, the Director-General of the IAA led the Audit Committee members in taking their official oath of office and oath of secrecy. He underscored the profound importance of these oaths, encouraging members to uphold their commitments with integrity throughout their tenure.
The newly inaugurated Audit Committee consists of five (5) members with an experienced and diverse group of professionals carefully selected to provide strong oversight, with Dr. Gordon Kofi Sarfo-Adu serving as Chairperson.
