Ali Ardashir Larijani was an Iranian politician, military officer, and philosopher who served as the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council from 2025 until his assassination in 2026. He previously served in the position from 2005 to 2007. From December 2025 until his assassination, he was widely considered to be the de facto leader of Iran.
