ABOUT AFRICAN TEENAGE FOUNDATION (ATF)
African Teenage Foundation is founded on the premise or need to bridge the gap between adulthood and teenage age; creating a care system for the teenagers in Africa. The foundation was birthed out of the concern and passion to care for teenagers in the Africa Continent.
By the aid of studies and inept observation, we came to the realization of the fact that this particular age group, in most African Communities is mostly allowed to grow up by themselves as such, they learn about life on their daily experiences. Hence, they become exposed and vulnerable to the negative impact of the society and as time goes by, in the midst of tough choices, they give their yielding to becoming nuisance to the general society by engaging in social vices.
African Teenage Foundation is of the belief that instead of waiting till these teenagers are all grown and living a life they wouldn’t have if they were given the chance/opportunity of picking between a better life and the current one they are living; due to the lack of parental and societal care. The foundation strongly believe in the ideology of caring for their needs at this teenage age. At this age, we believe we can help shape the future of these teenagers by caring for some of the most tenant challenges facing their age grade such as LACK OF PARENTAL CARE AND SOCIETAL CONCERN, TEENAGE PREGNANCY, DRUG ABUSE, and SEXUAL AND TEENAGE LABOUR, etc.
The breakdown of family value and the continuous increase in cases of unwanted pregnancy is increasing the population of the African society and due to lack of good parental care and poverty, these teenagers are forced into adulthood at a very tender age; caring for themselves and some even bearing the burden of the family they come from. Most of them are denied education and exposed to harsh treatment.
OUR VISION is to achieve an African Community where the future of its teenagers is secured and they have the right to family care and societal concern.
WE BELIEVE every child deserves the right to family and not just that but also to parental care and societal concern. The teenage age is the most vulnerable age grade in child growth. We believe we can bridge that gap by equipping teenagers with the right set of mind/belief through education and the ICARE initiative; where we will give ourselves to caring for teenagers on the streets.
MISSION: Restoring the future by caring for the teenagers.
WE BELIEVE that the future lies in the hands of these young stars so if we don’t show them care, the continent will not get any better than this as we will see a continuity in failed family, political and social leadership.

HOW TO HELP:
The organisation has three tiers of helpers that it looks forward to working with;
Become a volunteer: these are strategic individuals who bear the same burden as the organisation but are only looking for a platform to demonstrate/engage their passion. ATF welcomes such individuals on board to help us in our various sensitization and icare programmes. Volunteers will not be paid any basic salary/allowance as the organization is not a profit making organisation as such we are interested in people who are willing to sacrifice for humanity.
Donation: the organisation does not have any means of income for the running of it affairs; it depends on the donation and partnership of well-meaning public institutions and individuals in other to raise funds.
Become a delegate: since the target of the organisation are teenagers, we believe the best place to meet with them is at schools (especially public schools) and on the streets of the cities of interest. Delegates needed are those who basically live within the area of interest. These delegates are to help the organisation organise symposiums in schools as well as community sensitization within their rural settlements.
