On 3rd February 2026, a communique was issued by the Secretary to the President, Mr Callistus Mahama, to the Director-General of the NIB, requesting them to investigate an allegation purportedly made by Kofi Ofosu Nkansah on Sompa Radio 106.5, to the effect that an
individual had paid to secure a scholarship to pursue studies abroad. The said communique
further directed the Director-General of the NIB to submit their findings on the
investigation.

Pursuant to the directive, Mr. Ofosu Nkansah was invited by the NIB for a meeting at 10:00 am on 5th February 2026, to assist with ongoing investigations in respect of the above subject.

Kofi Ofosu after voluntarily presenting himself at the offices of the NIB on Thursday, 5th February 2026, in the
company of his legal counsel, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah Esq. (MP, Manhyia South)
to assist with the investigation was asked to go home without being charged.

Subsequently, On Monday 9th February 2026, whilst Kofi Ofosu was in Kumasi visiting his seriously ill father, he was again invited by the NIB to report to their office. He however told them he was unable to make it because of his father's condition and rather asked that he be allowed to report on Wednesday 11th February 2026. The NIB however insisted that he reports on Tuesday 11th February 2026. Upon Kofi Ofosu reporting to the NIB on tuesday, he was taken to his house by heavily armed NIB agents to conduct a serach after which they brought him back the NIB office at NIMA. Later they took Kofi to an unknown location.

SM fans stormed the premises of EOCO after the arrest of the SM boss Shatta wale.

Shatta wale was arrested with regards to money laundering, tax invasion and a Lamborghini vehicle suspected to be stolen and shipped to Ghana. Shatta claimed he bought the vehicle from one Guy he couldn't recall his identity.

This raises public eyebrow and EOCO suspicions on his inheritance.

Some supporters are not in good terms of this arrest citing Shatta's unwavering support for John Mahama and his past campaign song for him, others citizens also believes it's just a strategy of the EOCO to shift public attention from the Ridge hospital incidence which involves the physical assault on Nurses.
