According to interim manager Ralf Rangnick, Paul Pogba is "unlikely" to return to Manchester United this season.

The 29-year-old France midfielder is out of contract this summer and was forced out with a calf injury 10 minutes into Tuesday's 4-0 loss to Liverpool.

Pogba is expected to miss "at least four weeks," with United's last game of the season against Crystal Palace on May 22.

"He's unlikely to play again until the end of the season," Rangnick stated.

"The doctor informed me it would take four weeks minimum for him to recuperate and the last game is the end of May," the German said when asked whether Pogba has played his final game for the club.

"I don't believe it's very probable that he'll be able to play again."

He said, " "He does not appear to be renewing his contract at this time. I'm not sure if the club or Erik [ten Hag, United's new manager] would refuse to renew his contract, but he'll most likely not be here next season."

Pogba progressed through United's academy before joining Juventus in 2012 and returning to Old Trafford in 2016 for a world-record £89 million cost.

The 2018 World Cup champion has scored 39 goals in 226 appearances for the club, helping them win the League Cup and Europa League in 2017.

United has five Premier League games remaining, starting with a trip to Arsenal on Saturday, when Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and Scott McTominay are expected to return.

Ronaldo, 37, scored a hat-trick in Portugal's 3-2 win against Norwich on Saturday, but was unable to play against Liverpool on Tuesday due to the death of his infant child.

United announced on Thursday that Ajax coach Erik ten Hag will take over as permanent manager at the conclusion of the season.

"Obviously, I informed [the club's board] that I think Erik would be a fantastic candidate, at least from what I've seen and heard from individuals who have worked with Erik," said Rangnick, who will now serve as a consultant at Old Trafford.

"I still think he's an excellent pick."

Otto Addo has stated again that he is willing to manage the Black Stars while also serving as the assistant coach of Borussia Dortmund ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

The 46-year-old is now employed by the German Bundesliga club as a scout and assistant manager, but was temporarily assigned to Ghana for the two-legged World Cup playoff games against Nigeria in March.

Following a thrilling 1-1 tie against Nigeria at the Mashood Abiola Stadium in March, Addo guided the Black Stars to a World Cup berth.

Both teams split the spoils in Abuja, with a penalty from Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong canceling out Thomas Partey's first-half score.

After a goalless draw in the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, the result ensured Ghana's qualifying on away goals.

Many have asked for Addo to be named as the Black Stars' manager on a permanent basis, and he has stated that he intends to continue in the position.

However, the former midfielder stated that he will speak with his German club's executives to request permission to combine both duties.

"On Thursday, I'll have a meeting with my superiors [Dortmund] to discuss the Black Stars position and the potential of staying with them." Sure, [I'm eager to coach the Black Stars], but we'll have to talk about the contract," the temporary Black Stars coach told 3news.

Cadiz stunned Barcelona by winning their first ever game away from the Camp Nou, defeating Xavi's team 1-0 to climb up to 16th place in La Liga and handing the Blaugrana their first league loss since December.

Despite dominating possession in the first half, Barcelona was unable to create an opening, and it was Cadiz who had the greatest chance to take the lead in the first half, when Lucas Perez sliced a close-range shot wide of the far post.

After Ruben Sobrino's initial effort bounced off Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Cadiz took a stunning lead three minutes after the restart, when Perez netted a tap-in from close range.

Barcelona then gave it all they had in an attempt to save the game, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang getting the closest late on with a low shot towards the near post that was excellently stopped by Cadiz goalkeeper Jeremias Ledesma.

Cadiz held on for a spectacular victory and continued their unblemished run against La Blaugrana.

Real Tamale United (RTU) fought hard and rightly overcame Asante Kotoko 2-1 on Sunday afternoon to earn three crucial points.

In a matchday 25 match of the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season, the squad headquartered in Tamale hosted the league leaders today.

RTU earned a penalty kick in the 25th minute of a match played at the Aliu Mahama Stadium. Ronald Frimpong, a set-piece specialist, took charge from 12 yards and scored to put the hosts in front.

Despite Asante Kotoko's best efforts, the squad was unable to equalize before the break and went into the half behind.

On-loan Hearts of Oak striker Victor Aidoo scored in the 79th minute to make it 2-0 in the second half.

After falling behind 2-0, Asante Kotoko stepped up their game and scored a consolation goal in the 85th minute when league top striker Frank Mbella Etouga converted a penalty kick.

Unfortunately, that was not enough to inspire a comeback, as RTU held on for a 2-1 victory at the conclusion of 90 minutes.

Sadio Mane was once again the torment of Manchester City as Liverpool clinched a place in the FA Cup final for the first time since 2012 with a 3-2 victory that keeps their quest for an extraordinary treble alive.

Just six days earlier, the Senegalese attacker scored a crucial equalize to secure a 2-2 Premier League draw in a title clash at the Etihad Stadium, and he grabbed center stage at Wembley after Ibrahima Konate opened the scoring with a header for the third consecutive game.

Just eight minutes later, Mane rushed down a hesitant Zack Steffen to challenge the City goalkeeper and slot the ball in for Liverpool's second of the afternoon. It was a massive error from the Citizens' backup goalkeeper, and it just added to the idea that Pep Guardiola's selection gambit had backfired spectacularly.

Indeed, after their Champions League exploits against Atletico Madrid in midweek, City manager Pep Guardiola said he had no option but to choose a less-than-full-strength squad, which Jurgen Klopp's Reds exploited brutally.

Mane struck again on the stroke of halftime, finishing a lovely play on the outside of the penalty box with a blistering near post volley to conclude a fairytale first 45 for the Merseysiders.

Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has denied media rumours that his organization has already met with acting Black Stars coach Otto Addo to discuss extending his contract ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Following his excellent leadership of the Black Stars to their fourth World Cup berth after missing out on the 2018 tournament in Russia, reports have surfaced that Otto Addo has agreed to accept a contract extension until December 2022.

Mr. Okraku, on the other hand, has rejected the claims in a Facebook post.

"I awoke to a slew of news about Coach Otto Addo this morning. Truth::: Ghana has yet to meet with Otto Addo's employers. Mr. Okraku wrote, "Steps are being taken in that direction, and we will keep everyone updated on our progress."

"Our football association is focused on putting our technical staff in place for forthcoming missions," he continued.

However, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum confirmed on GTV Sports Plus on Thursday night that the FA boss is still in Europe, meeting with Borussia Dortmund, Aston Villa, and Nordsjaelland about the possibility of re-engaging Otto Addo, George Boateng, and Didi Dramani ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In Group H of the 2022 World Cup, which will be hosted in Qatar in November, the Black Stars will face Uruguay, Portugal, and South Korea.

The semi-final match between Scotland and Ukraine in the World Cup play-offs has been postponed for June 1, with the winner facing Wales in the final four days later.

The Hampden semi-final was scheduled to take place on March 24, but Ukraine requested that Fifa postpone the match due to Russia's invasion of the nation.

Wales defeated Austria to go to the final, which will be held in Cardiff.

In the Qatar World Cup later this year, Scotland, Ukraine, or Wales will meet England, Iran, and the United States.

The event runs from November 21 through December 18.

Scotland and Ukraine's Nations League Group B1 matches will be rescheduled as a result of the revised World Cup play-off procedures.

Scotland's home opener against Armenia has been put back four days to June 8, but the away games against Republic of Ireland (June 11) and Armenia (June 14) will take place as scheduled.

The Volta and Oti Regional Boxing Federation has been preparing for the inauguration of the first-ever boxing tournament in honor of late ex-President Jerry John Rawlings' contribution to boxing and his enthusiasm for the sport.

The event will take place in the evening of April 16, 2022 at the Keta Aborigin Beach Resort.

In an exclusive interview with Evans Worlanyo Ameamu of ModernGhana news, Mr Enam Foster Dagadu, the president of the Volta and Oti regional boxing organization, revealed that the boxing event will be place on June 4, 2022 at the Aborigin Beach Hotel in Keta.

The launch and primary boxing events, he added, are designed to pay tribute to the late Rawlings' dedication and the significant role he played in growing and promoting boxing in the region and across the country.

Mr Dagadu, who is also a member of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), further mentioned that Ghanaian boxing great Azuma Nelson will be present at both the launch and the boxing tournament on June 4.

According to him, anyone interested in becoming a great boxer may seek guidance, support, and promotion from the Volta and Oti boxing organization.

He stated that the event will feature a contest between GBA-qualified boxers from the area, as well as boxers from the Greater Accra region and Niger and Nigeria.

"Due to the inception of the late former president, the first edition of this combat is staged in Keta," he added.

Both performances, according to Mr Dagadu, would feature performers such as Edem and others.

He asked the government, individuals, and charities to invest in boxing sports so that young people might compete internationally.

He dispelled common misunderstandings about the sports and encouraged young people to participate in boxing, which he described as "one of the finest sporting games" in which Ghana had won several medals.

Top NPP expert discloses that the Inaki brothers are eager to play for Ghana.

Kennedy Agyapong, a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP], has stated that the Inaki brothers are interested in playing for the senior national team, the Black Stars.

Inaki, in particular, has long been a focus for the West African country.

However, the outspoken Ghanaian politician claimed that despite their willingness to play for the national team, the Inaki brothers are hesitant to do so because of the abuse and severe criticism footballers receive from the media when they make mistakes.

"Atletico Bilbao has two lads that are similar to me." "They are brothers," the Member of Parliament for Assin North told Accra's Happy FM.

"The Ghana Football Association came to meet me since I am a personal friend of theirs." They told me they want to play, but the way we criticize these athletes, particularly the media, is too harsh, and they are discouraged as a result.

Due of bias, the NPP guru further stated that in order for Ghana football to thrive, no one with close links to teams should be permitted to lead the Ghana Football Association.

"Every human being seeks to help his teammates and players whenever possible. They can sell these players if they are not fit and travel to the World Cup. As a result, they will always prefer their players.

"An independent GFA is required." I'm not sure why only football people are allowed to run the Ghana Football Association or become its president. He went on to say, "I don't subscribe to it."

Both Inaki and Nico play for Atletico Bilbao in the Spanish La Liga.
