AVI ME RI NA AGBLETA WO KOA NU O
As i say last, this statement is another challenging one that has been playing on the minds of both the old and the young.
The center word that is responsible for this confusion for me is AGBLETA. *
This word, some times, is taken by section of the ewe speakers to be AGBLEDEA (AGBLEDELAWO). These two words play the major significant role on the meaning of the expression above.
So what is the expression all about.
We cann't know unless we get the actual meaning of it.
The actual meaning is derived from 2 reasonings.
1. an accident
2. sympathizers
Ok. So the general idea is when an accident occurs, how is it mourned or sympathized? And what and how is the effect affecting us?
Now let's see which is which.
Whenever an incident happened, all attention is shifted to the affected people, who is affected, we all would want to know. We don't expect that somebody would sit unconcern.
Warning is now sent to those who'll be like 'i dont care'.
But who are those people?
THIS QUESTION IS HAVING THE CONFUSION IN THE EXPRESSION.
LET'S SEE THIS.
AGBLETA means in the farm or at the farm or over the long distance place.
When AGBLETA is used,
and we have AVI ME RI NA agbleta WO KONA NU O, then,
This directly shows that when their is an accident at the farm and crying is heard, the sympathizer should not laugh.
Here, the sympathizer is believed to be at home not in the farm.
NOTE:
It can be that it is his farm that catches fire but he is in the house and do not know. if he dares laugh and it turn out to be his accident then he rather laughed at himself.
So if you hear sad news a distance from you, show concern, the mess may befall your relative.
clear example may be Cristian- ATSU AND THE EARTHQUAKE MATTER.
This is clear.
AVI ME RI NA agbleta WO KOA NU O.
HOWEVER, the confusion comes in when the second word AGBLEDEA WO (AGBLE DE LA WO) referring to farmers who went to the farm and away from home.
This word makes 'AVI ME RI NA agbledeawo KO NA NU O' , a direct opposite to the former expression.
So, here, it means the accident is happening at home whereas the people are far away. And may not know if the accident is happening in their home or to a neighbor.
So u see?
If the farmer went to farm and his daughter fell in a well or his house catches fire and he heard cries when in his farm he should not be unconcern.
Now the usage, to my opinion should not be criticized. both are sensible.
LET US USE THEM ACCORDING TO EACH SITUATION BEST FITS.
