Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah writes;

PRESENTATION OF DIGITAL COMMUNICATION, INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT EQUIPMENT

Yesterday, I had the privilege of presenting the first sets of Digital Communication, Information and Entertainment Equipment to the youth of 56 communities in Gomoa West Constituency.

The items include DSTV decoders and accessories, projectors, tripods/portable screens, and public address systems. We also engaged a consultant to assess the feasibility of rolling out free community WiFi.

The initiatives form part of our commitment to promoting digital communication, public education, community engagement, and access to information.

With these initiatives, our communities will be better connected, better informed, and better entertained free of charge.

Together, we are building a smart and more connected Gomoa West.

Her Royal Majesty Dr. Nana Ama Amissah III has passed on. Today we mourn a remarkable leader, a guardian of culture, and a tireless advocate for women, children, and the future of Mankessim.

As Paramount Queen Mother of Mankessim, HRM Dr. Nana Ama Amissah III was more than a traditional ruler—she was a custodian of Fante heritage. She dedicated her life to preserving our customs and passing them to younger generations, ensuring that the wisdom and dignity of our people endure.

Her service extended beyond ceremony into bold social action. She championed maternal health, raised awareness about obstetric fistula, and facilitated corrective surgeries that restored dignity and hope to countless women. Through the “Beyond Kitchen Campaign,” she empowered indigenous women to build economic independence and lead their families toward greater stability. She stood firmly against child labor and human trafficking, and she worked to keep children in school where their futures are shaped.

Her influence reached national and continental stages. Appointed to Ghana’s National Gold Board in 2024, she called for transparency and responsible stewardship of our resources for national benefit. As a representative of Queen Mothers at African Union forums, she raised crucial voices for women farmers and vulnerable groups in land governance discussions. She founded and led the Central Region Queen Mothers Association, equipping traditional leaders for the responsibilities of the modern era.

She believed in Mankessim’s potential—its people, its land, and its future—and urged investment from local and diaspora partners to build infrastructure and sustainable agriculture that could lift entire communities.

We have lost a stateswoman, a teacher, and a mother to many. Her legacy is written in healed bodies and empowered women, in taught traditions and strengthened institutions, and in the many lives she touched with courage and compassion.

May her soul find peace. We extend our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, the people of Mankessim, and all who mourn her loss. Let us honor her memory by continuing the work she began: protecting our culture, caring for our mothers and children, and stewarding our nation’s resources with integrity.
