The nation mourns the passing of Ghana’s Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who died at the age of 76. According to sources close to the family, she passed away in the early hours of Thursday, October 23, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
Born on November 17, 1948, in Cape Coast in the Central Region, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings was the devoted wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings. She stood as a towering figure in Ghana’s political and social landscape—known for her courage, advocacy for women’s empowerment, and lifelong dedication to public service.
