An 18-year-old student, Alex Awuah, from St. Joseph Technical Institute in Kwahu Tafo, died after being stabbed in the neck by his friend, Samuel Opuni, also known as “Sugar.”

The incident happened on the evening of Wednesday, July 17, 2025. Samuel, who had been removed from school housing and was staying with Alex, allegedly attacked him during a fight after Alex asked someone for money and Samuel tried to pull that person away.

Alex was rushed to a nearby clinic, then referred to Atibie Government Hospital, but treatment was delayed because they asked for a police form. Sadly, Alex passed away shortly after.

Samuel Opuni has been arrested and is now in police custody while investigations are ongoing.
