SALATUL FAATIHI

● Prof. Rashid Hussain Sultan Salwat (Sheihu Salawatia Qutub Az-Zaman RTA)
•──────﷽────────•
Salat ul-Fatihi on one hand is a symmetry of life and its embodiment as it provides a balanced proportion of everything created, and on the other hand the equilibrium of perfection as it provides a balance between all opposing forces.

The Quran notifies how Allah (SWT) aforementioned and beyond time hymned Salawat for the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS); and in a solemn clarion call of appeal OH! You who believed, make it your deed to also make salawat to the Prophet, majority of Muslims have been confused about how to do an acceptable Salawat.

Islam is the religion professed by all prophets and messengers of Allah from Prophet Adam (A.S) to the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS).

On another hand, the heirs to the prophets of Allah are the saints and Awliyah who have continued as the torchbearers of faith, spiritual prowess and religion in general. It is common knowledge that the Almighty Allah does not do anything human beings do even though Adam (AS) and the throngs of his descendants have always been referred to as the vicegerent of the Almighty Allah on earth. Indeed the status of vicegerency may have been misunderstood looking at the deeds and misdeeds of mankind alone the human-moral-belief-piety linkages.

"It's time muslims wake from their slumber and anesthetized demeanor and embrace the love the Prophet Muhammad and His Household.

That is the answer to the dejection, raw stigma, opprobrium and misery that engulf muslims. Salawat to the Prophet is the Key but SALAT-UL FAATIHI is the ultimate Answer!"

THE LITERACY STATE OF THE PROPHET: WAS THE HOLY PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SAWAS) AN ILLITERATE?

● Prof. Rashid Hussain Sultan Salwat (Sheihu Salawatia Qutub Az-Zaman RTA)
•──────﷽────────•

Another mischievous claim by you, Dr. Jay Smith, is on the acceptance of the illiteracy state of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS). This is another dubious attempt to diminish the value and legitimacy of the Quran. The moment you question the reading and writing ability of the receiver of The Message, then you have enough basis to challenge the validity of The Message. If the Prophet was an illiterate and therefore could not read nor write, then it simply means that even if some of the scribes wrote the verses of the message, the Prophet could still not read them; and how then could the Prophet have known if the recorded verses were correctly written? Allah emphatically stated the literate capability of the Prophet and his ability to read and teach. In Quran 62:2; we read:

"It was He Who raised among the inhabitants of (Makkah) a Messenger from among themselves, who was commanded to READ to them the verses of the revelation and purify them, and to teach them the Book (Quran) and the wisdom it contains, although before then they were certainly in clear ignorance."

The question now is; can an illiterate person be commanded to read and teach? That is impossible! If Allah knows for sure that His Prophet could not read, then why did He command him to read as indicated in Quran 96:1-5 and 62:2? The assumption that the Prophet was an illiterate was born out of a misunderstanding of the word “Ummii ”. The Quran usage of the word Ummii to the Prophet simply means that, he could read, write and teach Arabic, but could not read or write any of the language of the past prophets. He could not read and write Hebrew, Aramaic and the rest of the known languages at his time.

The Quran in 27:92-93 has indicated thus:

I am commanded that I should serve the Lord of this City (Makkah), Who has made it a Sacred Place, and to Him belong everything; and I am commanded to be of those who summit. And I am commanded that I should recite the Quran. For whoever is guided as a result of my teaching, does so for himself, and whoever goes astray, then say: I am only one of the warners. And say: ‘Praise be to Allah’. He will surely show you His signs (revelations) and you shall recognize them; for your Lord is not heedless of what all of you do.

Is the verse above not a confirmation from Allah that He taught His Prophet how to read and write? “He will surely show you His signs (revelations) and you shall recognize them”.

Allah has indeed confirmed to us that He (Allah) taught Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS). In Quran 27:6, we read: "And most surely you are to be taught the Quran from the Wise, the all knowing Allah."

Also in Quran 87:6 ; we read: "We shall make you read the Quran so that you will not forget."

Frankly speaking, the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) was a literary giant of his time and remains so to this date; given the perfect literacy message he received from Allah to guide humanity. The Quran has proven at several levels the literacy proficiency of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS). The details of such will be made available to you soon in a published book to address your effusions.

THE MAWLID OF THE HOLIEST MAN IN CREATION, WELCOME THE FIRST SPRING OF THE SPRINGS

● Prof. Rashid Hussain Sultan Salwat (Sheihu Salawatia Qutub Az-Zaman RTA)
•─────﷽──────•

O my beloved, the holiest Prophet Muhammad SAWAS, you are indeed an incredible and outstanding the First Spring of the Springs.

Reflecting on your holiest name: Muhammad SAWAS brought me to the vibrant center where I was surrounded by the reality of the exactitude. Here, the only option available to me was to undertake the Mystical Journey to understand you more. I hastened and undertook the journey from the bottom of my heart. Having reached there, I was the subject of infusion into your presence, O Holiest of names, and there, I then
I wondered but was not surprised that your holiest name consists of 4 letters of the sum of 92; which is exactly a multiple of 4 without a remainder.

I wondered but was not surprised that the 4 letters of your holiest name are the reflection of the 4 words of the Tahlil, that is, "There is only One God, Allah." I still wondered but was not surprised that your holiest name: Muhammad SAWAS appears 4 times in the Holiest of Books, the Holy Quran.

I wondered but was not surprised that your Holiest name has the strongest cemented relationship with the first verse of 4 words of the first chapter of the Holiest of Books, the Holy Quran, which is the Basmalah.

I wondered but not surprised when I read from the Holy Quran Chapter 68 Verse 4, where Allah SWT emphasised to the entire Universe about your highest moral values, O my Beloved, the Holiest of Prophets, my Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAWAS. Allah SWT says; "And most surely you, (O Prophet Muhammad SAWAS) conform (yourself) to the Greatest sublime morality." With this Divine Testimony from the Creator Himself, how many salutations can I say upon you, O Holiest Prophet Muhammad SAWAS to be close enough to the testimony of Allah SWT the Creator? Thousands, millions, billions or trillions?

I wondered but not surprised that you demonstrated your sublime morality when on one occasion, you were fast asleep far away from your companions under a shady tree during an expedition and a non-Muslim Arab drew his sword on you. He asked you:

"Who can save you from being killed by me?" You answered him, "Allah", and immediately, your vibrational sequence, your frequency resonance, your electromagnetic field and your Law of Attraction of your Holiest voice of calling "Allah" made him fall to the ground with his sword. You got up and drew his own sword on him and asked him the same question. "Who can save you from me?"

He answered you with all the freight in him and said: "You alone can." He declined to accept Islam however, but promised you not to fight you anymore. You helped him up on his feet and handed him his sword while your sword was far away from you. You bid him farewell, still not armed. The moral value you exhibited there left him astonished and surprised. When he got back to his people, he declared and described you to them as follows. "I returned to you safely from the most compassionate of men." Reference Al-Bukhari, Muslim and Riyad us-Saliheen, Book 1, Hadith 78.

I wondered but was not surprised that in 1935, the Supreme Court of the United States of America honoured you, O my Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad SAWAS, as one of the Greatest Lawgivers of the World. This distinguished honour and testimony about you, my Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad SAWAS, was indeed a manifestation of your exhibition of the greatest sublime morality as stated in the Holy Quran Chapter 68 Verse 4.

I wondered but not surprised that the bloodless takeover of Makkah (Mecca) by you, O Holiest of Prophets, my Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad SAWAS was also indeed an exhibition of your greatest sublime morality when you forgave and honored your arch-enemy and enemy of Islam, Abu Sufyan, who sponsored all the wars against you O Holiest Prophet Muhammad SAWAS and Muslims, you forgave him. My Beloved Holiest Prophet, in addition to that, you made an announcement that the house of Abu Sufyan was safe and not only safe, but also that anyone who sought refuge in Abu Sufyan's house was also safe Wonderful indeed. Reference, Sahih Abu Dawood, Hadith 3021 and 3022.

I wondered but not surprised when I again read from the Holy Quran 4/113, Allah SWT emphatically stated about the unbreakable strength of the Holy Quran and your Highest Achieved Grace by him to the entire Universe, Allah SWT said thus: " ...and they cannot harm you (O Prophet Muhammad SAWAS) in any way, whilst Allah has revealed to you the Book (Quran) and bestowed upon you the refined wisdom, and taught you what you did not know. And Allah's Grace on you is very great."

I wondered but not surprised that your coming to the world, O my Beloved Holiest of Prophets, Prophet Muhammad SAWAS, on the world's stage, you absolutely injected into the world the most vibrant civilisation and the advancement of Science and Technology.

I wondered but was not surprised when I posed this question to myself and to creation in its entity; is there any human being or extraterrestrial entities or an angel who has the capacity and capability to quantify what Allah SWT has described as great? I mean, the statement of Allah SWT from the Holy Quran 4/113;"…and Allah's Grace on you O Prophet Muhammad SAWAS is very Great?"

Indeed, my wonders and surprises reached their climax when I read from the Holy Quran 33/56, where Allah SWT and His angels say Salutations upon you, O my Beloved Holiest Prophet. Then, He commanded the faithful to also salute you with a befitting salutation. In fact, I cannot find words to describe and express myself about my feelings and understanding of this incredible phenomenon of yours.

O my Beloved Holiest Prophet Muhammad SAWAS, with all my heart, and with all my human strength, and with all my capacity and capability, I cannot demonstrate an atom's weight of Salutations due to you, when Allah SWT Himself salutes you, despite that He created you, and you are one of His creation (SAWAS).

Ubayy, one of your companions, one day told you that he sends numerous salutations upon you and asked you whether it was enough to devote a quarter of his time saying salutations on you. You answered him that it was great and that if he added more, it would have been greater. He asked you about half two-thirds, and you answered him that, would have been great, but if he had added more it would have been greater. Finally, he said that he would devote all his time to saying salutations on you. You then told him that saying salutations on you with all his time would solve all his problems, here on earth and in the hereafter.

Reference: Musnad Imam Ahmed. At-Tirmidhi, Hadith 2457 and 2645.

O my Beloved Holiest Prophet Muhammad SAWAS, I resolve to emulate Ubayy by devoting all my time to saying salutations on you, O First Spring of the Springs You are absolutely, and most importantly, the only one sent by Allah SWT as a mercy to the entire Universe, SAWAS. Q21/107.

MAULID CELEBRATION IN ISLAM

● Prof. Rashid Hussain Sultan Salwat (Sheihu Salawatia Qutub Az-Zaman RTA)

•──────﷽───────•

In celebrating the Maulid, I wish to say what Bernard Shaw said about the founder of Islam Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) and I quote, “I have studied him the wonderful man, and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the saviour of humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the leadership of the modern world, he would succeed in solving the problems in a way that would bring it the much-needed peace and happiness.” He also added;

“He was by far the most remarkable man that ever set foot on this earth. He preached a religion, founded a state, built a nation laid down a moral code, initiated numerous social and political reforms, established powerful and dynamic society to practice and represent his teachings and completely revolutionized the worlds of human thought and behaviour for all times to come.” (A collection of Writings of some of the Eminent Scholars” published by the Working Muslims Mission, 1935 Edition, pp 77)

Also, Michael H. Hart in his recently published book on ranking of the most influential persons in History, who contributed toward the benefit and upliftment of mankind writes: ‘My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world’s most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels.’ See M. H. Hart, The 100: A ranking of the most influential persons in History, New York, 1978, pp. 33).

The Holy Prophets’ teachings to ensure total and permanent peace and happiness in the world are still intact and can be found in two main sources of Islamic Jurisprudence, namely the Quran and the Traditions.

Muslim celebrities like Imam Ahmed, Imam as-Saafi’i, Imam ibn Taimia, Imam ibn Al-Juzia, Ibn Kathir, Imam al-Sayuti, and most of the Salaf us-Saulih celebrated the Birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS).

THE FIRST MAULID OF THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SAWAS)

In Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith 7.38, Um Habiba the daughter of Abu Sufyan said that ‘Urwatu bn Az-Zubair; narrated the following … Thuwaiba had been a slave girl whom Abu Lahab had given her, her freedom, when she informed him of the good news that Amina had given birth to a baby boy. Thuwaiba was freed and suckled the Prophet. When Abu Lahb died, one of his relatives saw him in a dream in a very bad state and asked him, “What have you encountered?” Abu Lahb said, “I have not found any rest since I left you, except that I have been given water to drink on every Monday and that was because I freed Thuwaiba, and gave her freedom.”

THUWAIBA’S FREEDOM

The first Maulid was the gesture of Abu Lahb upon hearing the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS), he became extremely happy to the extent that; he gave Thuwaiba her freedom in appreciation of the good news of the birth of the Prophet. Every Monday, Abu Lahb, who later on became the arch-enemy of the Prophet and contributed to the persecution of the Prophet and his Companions to the extent of waging wars on him. Despite the enmity and persecution Abu Lahb died as a non-believer, incidentally, every Monday his punishment is reduced, and in addition to that he is given water to drink because of celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) by freeing his slave girl.

What would be then the reward of a Muslim who believes in Allah and the Prophet and remembers the Prophet’s birthday and celebrates it with gifts of presents, because he/she is happy for this day and occasion, just like what Abu Lahb did? What would be his reward? Certainly without doubt his/ her reward will be much better than Abu Lahb who was only happy during the birth of the Prophet and freeing his slave girl but did not believe in the mission of this Universal Prophet.

FASTING ON MONDAYS

In Hadith 21498, Imam Ahmed Ibn Hambal is reported to have said that, Shuhba said ibn Abass said, the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) was asked, the reason behind his fasting on Mondays. The Prophet answered, “I am fasting on Mondays because it was the day I was born, and the day my mission began”.

Imam Ahmad, Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam as-Shaafi’i, Imam Nabawi, Imam Hafiz
al-Asqalani, and most of the as-Salf us-Saulih celebrated the Maulid based upon the Hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad. If the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) could celebrate his birthday, to the extent that he fasted on Mondays, that is in line with remembering his birthday with a fast or with a prayer or with giving of alms like that of Abu Lahb.

IBN ABASS ON MAULID

In the book of At-Tanweer (The Birthday of the Prophet) page 25 written by al-Hafiz Abu al-Khatab ibn Dahiya, he said, ibn Abass on one occasion narrated to the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) about his birthday contained in the Hadith of Imam Ahmed. When the Sahabi heard the narration, they praised Allah and asked Allah’s peace and blessing to be on the holy Prophet. The Holy Prophet (SAWAS) overheard them, and he came out to them and blessed them by saying special prayers for them. The Hadith 2376 of Imam Ahmad is as follows, on the authority of ibn Abass, who said the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) was born on a Monday, and called to Prophethood on a Monday, he left Mecca with the intention of migrating to Madina on a Monday, he reached Madina on a Monday, he lifted the black stone of the Kaaba and put it back on its position on a Monday.

SIGNIFICANCE OF MAULID - IBN TAIMIYA ON MAULID

Ibn Taimiya said, ‘dignifying maulid by celebrating it, and taking it as a way of preaching as most of the people do on that day has enormous reward for that intention and it is meant to uplift the image of the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS). Ibn Taimiya was asked, “What about the people who congregate in the mosque to remember the name of Allah in Zikr and reading the Holy Quran and they pray to each other and seek the nearness to Allah by celebrating the birthday with good intention, is that considered lawful in Islam?” Ibn Taimiya replied, “All praises be to Allah, the congregation of Muslims to read the Quran and to Zikr and pray for each other on the occasion of the birthday of the Prophet is a good deed and highly recommended, if they do not do anything unlawful there with any innovation and un-Islamic deeds”. (Iqtidha’a al-Siraten al-Mustakeem, page 297, and also Magmuatu al-Fatawi vol. 22 page 523, all written by ibn Taimiya).

Since scholars like Bernard Shaw and Michael Hart who were non-Muslims appreciated the Holy Prophet of Islam and the manner in which they did, I think we the Muslims, the believers in Allah and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) have a bigger obligation to dignify and keep his name high for the rest of the world to know and appreciate him.

I wish all Muslims a successful Maulid, may Allah bless us all.

LOGICAL FACTS AND ANALYSIS BETWEEN THE QUR'AN AND THE HADITH. ~Prof. Rashid Hussain Sultan Salwat, Sheihu Salawatia Qutub Zaman RTA
•─────﷽─────•

The total numbers of the Chapters in the Holy Quran are 114 whereas; the total numbers of Chapters in the Six (6) most authentic Hadith books are 318, that is 204 more than the chapters of the Quran.

The Quran consists of 6,232 verses whereas, the 6 Hadith books consist of 27,000 Hadith, that is 20,768 more verses than the Quran. Out of a total collection of 2.5 million Hadith, only 1.3% has been recorded, the remaining huge percentage of 98.7% of the Hadith were destroyed, apparently for no reason. This is very unfortunate.

It is abundantly clear from the above analysis that the total recorded Hadith comprising the 1.3% approved as compared to the Quran shows huge variations. Allah in His infinite knowledge and understanding of His entire creation which includes mankind and their needs, revealed 114 chapters, whereas the six canonized authors provided 318 chapters of their own, as compared to that of Allah, the Almighty, the All-Knowing, and the Creator.

These 318 chapters were recorded in order to explain for Allah and His Messenger, what the Messenger has been mandated to do. Allah has emphatically stated the core role and mission of His Messenger in Quran 2: 151 and in Quran 62:2; we read as follows:

Q2:151

Just as We have sent a Messenger from among you who recites to you Our verses and purifies you and teaches you the Book (the Quran) and the wisdom (in it) and teaches you that which you did not know.

Q62:2

It was He Who raised among the inhabitants of (Makkah) a messenger from among themselves, who was commanded to recite to them the verses of the revelation and purify them, and to teach them the Book (the Quran) and the wisdom it contains, although before then they were certainly in clear ignorance.

The unauthorized recordings and explanations to Allah’s revelations gave birth to countless contradictions, and what is even worse off is that, their recordings, directly or indirectly, were telling the whole world that the Quran is incomplete. Allah, the Creator of the universe authored the Quran with only 6,232 verses and emphasized in Quran 18:27 that none can change His words yet these collectors have found reasons to change or add at least 27,000 additional information to dissuade Muslims from the right path of Allah.

Allah says in Quran 18:27 And teach what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord: none can change His Words, and none will you find as a refuge other than Him. From the analysis, one is tempted to declare the recordings of the Hadith as absolutely unnecessary and unessential for the development of Islam, because such information only succeeded in dividing the Muslim Ummah and, furthermore, they stood in way of some Muslims from accepting and committing fully to the divine law.

Meanwhile, it is the divine law that is the main standard on the Day of Judgment. Every Muslim knows that Allah will judge us only by the Quran and not what other humans have written for us.

[ISLAMIC BELIEFS - Part Two]

THE QURAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE STANDARD FOR THE AUTHENTICATION OF THE HADITH.
________________

No matter the intentions of the writers of the recorded Hadith may have been, they should have first and foremost cross-checked their information with the Quran to ensure conformity and harmony with the Quran by avoiding these countless contradictory materials they recorded.

Unfortunately the cross-checking was not done. In fact, not only that but also most unacceptably, all the recorded Hadith have been put into classifications. These classifications automatically put to question any type of Hadith since the methodologies applied to decipher a particular type of Hadith for categorization were done by humans who were not divinely inspired.

Insha Allah, I will explain in detail. The classifications of the Hadith into Sahih or Hasan, should not be confused with authenticity. They are clearly about soundness and acceptability, not because they are in conformity with the Quran. On the other hand, the Hadith may have been written with dissuasive intent. This is the situation we have found ourselves in because, majority of the Hadith are not in consonance with the divine message (The Quran).

In reality, the truth under the circumstance is that, some writers were anti-Islam whose desires, were to breed doctrinal confusion and thereby divide the Muslim Ummah. All in all, because the Hadith is human and not divine, there is no single Hadith that has provided defense for the use of Hadith as an alternative or complementary law in Islam. All along, what we have as Muslims are the interpretations of jurists promoting the essentials of the Hadith visà-vis the Quran. Unlike the Quran, all the millions, and later thousands of Hadith available for use, have not provided any defense that the Hadith is a requirement in Islamic beliefs.

The total number of Hadith originally collected in the six books noted above was almost 2.5 million collections made of claims and counter claims. Out of that huge pool of Hadith, only 27,000 were recorded altogether in the Six Books. The rest of the 2.4 million Hadith were thrown away. It is unbelievable that, this should be the case! The question now is, what criteria did they use to do away with that vast majority of Hadith collections as indicated? In order to fully understand and appreciate my presentation, take any Hadith classified as Sahih or Hasan and recite it in place of a Quranic verse in Salaat and listen to what the congregation will say, or better still, ask the Hadith scholars whether you can substitute a Quranic verse with a Hadith in your Salaat, be it Fajir, Zuhr, Asr, Magrib or Isha? The answer you will receive from them is a big No. In other words the Quran cannot be substituted and the Hadith cannot also be an alternative to the Quran.

Then why on earth should some Muslims openly disobey Allah in this manner, and not only the gross disobedience and defiance to Allah’s Message, but also intentionally taught, programmed and brainwashed Muslims, knowing very well that, judgment will be based strictly on the Quran on Judgment Day?
