Learn this basic tips from Link Radio School.

:
Today we are looking at some dos and don't in a studio.
Many radio broadcasters have made the studio an ordinary place.

1. No Food or Drink anywhere in the studio: Food or Drink accidentally spilled on our
mixing board will cause irreparable damage to the Wheatstone console.
If you need a drink or food please keep it in the hallway outside of the studio. You are
also responsible for ensuring guests during your show do not bring food or drink into the studio

2. No smoking, alcohol or drug use while programming on-air

3. Show up at least 15 minutes before your show: Programmers must show up at least
15 minutes before their show and be prepared to start programming at the top of the hour.
Always play a Bridge and an ID between shows, this indicates to the listener that a
change in programming about to happen.

4. Leave the studio promptly once your show is done: Organize your CD’s, papers,
bags and coats so that you can leave quickly once your show is over. Often it is good to
start this during your last song or within the last five minutes of your programming. Also
make sure your show ends when it is supposed to, it is not fair to other programmers to go
overtime into their shows.

5. You are responsible for the conduct and behavior of your guests: If you have
guests on your radio show you are responsible for ensuring that they don’t violate the studio rules.

5 Don't entertain visitors in the studio.
If you have a visitor who's not coming on your show let him/her sit at the reception but not in the studio.

6 Try to avoid entering the studio when the host is on air speaking.

HOW TO BE A TOP RADIO NEWS READER.

My Lesson for today goes to the News Broadcasters and those who are interested in reading news in the future.

1. Make your story Clear . If you have doubts, pretend you’re telling the story to a fifth grader. Choose the most appropriate words and follow a logical sequence.

2. Be yourself, be unique. Use your own words, your own language. Listeners can feel if something sounds ‘forced’ or even worse. A personal touch will make your product unique.

3. Record your voice in interesting places (if you’re not live of course). A background noise can make all the difference. If this is not possible, make an interesting use of sound effects.

4. Be concise. Your audience’s time is valuable.

5. If you’re in a public place, ask for an opinion to passers-by.

6. Balance different voices . When interviewing people, try to reach a balance between male and female, old and young and so on.

7. Experiment , but only when you feel comfortable with the basics.

8. Use Music . Spreaker gives you a Creative Commons library to play with, so you are running no risks.

9. Make a clever use of sound effects. The right sound effect can turn a flat piece into a unique and engaging experience.

10. Prepare well for the closure. This is probably the most important part of your production. Try and leave your audience with something to think about.

Meet our senior lecturer who doubles as News Editor for Chris FM, Mr Kwabena Asiamah and Mubarak, who had his journalism training at Link Radio School.

After completing our school, Mubarak first worked with Akomapa FM in Berekum before crossing carpet to Chris FM.

We send the best of wishes to Our former student Eric Addo (Sports Ambassordor) ahead of the national elections for Distance Education Students Association - University of Education Winneba.

He is contesting as the National Public Relations Officer for the association this coming Saturday, October 15 2022 at Winneba North Campus.

Ericus has already served at the Center and Regional level as the PRO.

Currently working at Kaakyire FM in Berekum as a sports Journalist and has worked with Agoro FM as well.
