Nanung Palace Commends Ghana Cocoa Board for Historic Visit
The Palace of Nanung has expressed its deep gratitude to the leadership and technical team of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) for their historic visit to the traditional area on Saturday. The visit, described as a significant milestone, is seen as a strong affirmation of the growing national recognition of Northern Ghana's agricultural potential, particularly that of Nanung.
The COCOBOD delegation was led by Chief Executive Dr. Ransford Abbey, accompanied by Dr. Francis Baah, Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Agronomy and Quality Control. Also present was Mr. Seidu Abu, Acting National Coordinator of CODAPEC/HiTECH and a native of Nanung, whose involvement facilitated the traditional entry protocols for the visiting team.
According to the Palace, the respectful observance of community entry customs by the COCOBOD officials demonstrated professionalism and a deep regard for traditional authority. The delegation first visited the Nanung Palace and later proceeded to the Salinaayili Palace, where a cocoa farm, now drawing national interest, is located.
Traditional leaders acknowledged the efforts of farmers, technical officers, media practitioners, and community members whose dedication continues to highlight Nanung's agricultural capabilities.
Reaffirming its commitment to unity, dignity, and progress, the Palace urged the public to focus on the achievements of local cocoa farmers and the promising collaboration between Nanung and the Ghana Cocoa Board.
The statement concluded with a renewed pledge by the traditional authority to support initiatives that uplift the people, promote agricultural growth in Northern Ghana, and project Nanung as a land of peace, resilience, and potential.
The Palace conveyed its sincere gratitude to COCOBOD, affirming that “Nanung stands ready for continued partnership.”
